Yes, you read that right... A little boy saw a hurt kitten on the side of the road, his bus driver let him save it, and she lost her job for it. Her name is Cynthia Morgan. For 11 years she drove kids in Harford County, most recently to North Harford Elementary. Parents say every fall she BOUGHT SCHOOL SUPPLIES for EVERY child on her bus. Oh, and she also bought: -> Christmas gifts. -> Birthday cards. All out of her own pocket, for all her bus stop students. In one mom’s words: “She is an angel. She is the most caring person.” Then one day... in rural Pylesville, the boy spotted an injured kitten by the road. He was the ONLY child on the bus Cynthia stopped, he hopped off, scooped up the kitten, and held it the whole way to school. On October 5th, the district’s transportation director sent a letter to the contractor that employs her and stripped her of her certification. More than 10,000 people have signed a petition to bring her back. Even freaking PETA wrote to the Board of Education TODAY demanding a review of the situation The boy’s mother is BEYOND FURIOUS... if you can't let a boy rescue a kitten on a country road, what CAN you do?!!!! Yes, you read that right. His name is Joe Evermore, his son is Joey “Danger” Evermore. Yes, Danger is his real middle name 🤣 Joey started the climb at 6 years old and he turned 7 HALFWAY UP THE WALL. On May 20th, after FIVE DAYS on a 3,000-foot granite face, he reached the summit. His older brothers, Sam and Sylvan, had both done it at 8, Joey beat them both. By the way... this was not a stunt thrown together over a weekend, it was a rope ascent with a full support team. Joe says his son was anchored to the wall the entire way, and that he managed the risks with a team, preparation, and training. In his dad’s words: “In a way he’s the least afraid that we’ve ever seen.” After the story went global, the comments turned ugly. Joe says people told him his kids would be better off in FOSTER CARE... and then came the CPS reports. Not one. MULTIPLE. Joe says the family then got a LETTER from Child Protective Services. CPS had reviewed the complaints... and DECLINED to pursue them (the right move) Joe’s words: “they just don’t understand what’s dangerous and what’s not dangerous.” So true... people let their kids have live access to anything and everything on the internet, but as soon as they see a brave kid doing something OUTSIDE, people lose their minds.
