Haven’t been here in a while (The app is openly transphobic, and unsafe now) but wanted to share a story about an immigrant family I met this week in the subway that touched my heart and shows the human side of this political crisis created by anti-immigrant policies:
Saw a young woman and a very small baby with dirty clothes and timid eyes on the subway selling chocolates & gums. She told me she came from Ecuador TWO DAYS before. Was 21 & her baby, 1-year-old, and was already working & selling in the subway. Didn’t have a phone or even a pen

Instead of taxing her ultra-rich donors so NY could sustain meaningful access to healthcare, @GovKathyHochul passed the buck to working-class New Yorkers – during an affordability crisis, no less. As more details emerge, it's become clear that this is truly a #billionairebudget.
The state will start withholding federal aid from localities to help pay for Medicaid over the next three years. The nonpartisan Citizens Budget Commission estimates the change will increase property taxes between 7 and 14%. specne.ws/YZyGzw
