RARE and Playground Games both important video game studios out of the UK and now both at huge risk, due to acquisition, of being entirely offshored to the United States.
We need asset locks in the creative industries, we need to see worker co-ops in the UK’s gaming sector.
Update on Xbox's "Reset":
▪️268 roles are being eliminated across Halo Studios, Xbox Game Studios management and other first party teams
▪️Rare and World's Edge will be under Activision
▪️Activision will develop the next Halo title
▪️Halo Studios will continue with a small team 'supporting the Halo community and games in-market'
▪️Obsidian will now be under Bethesda
▪️Turn 10 will merge with Playground Games as one studio, focusing on Forza and Fable

I see a lot of young people on this platform with "aspiring animator/artist" in their bios who have gotten caught up in fandom hysteria and are trying to build cred by shit talking various studios and artists
and my professional advice would be: you should all stop doing that
