My good friend Bruce Braley said this once and they drove him out of the state
Tried asking Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, whether it’s appropriate for ICE to enter homes without a judicial warrant. “Ask a constitutional lawyer,” he said. “I'm a farmer.”

'If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – for ever, for $8/month"
Adding "for $8/month" to the end of any sentence makes that sentence funnier, esp bible verses

Ah, mercy, that notoriously scarce commodity Jesus was so reluctant to hand out. Glad we know you’re not dipping into that store too much.
If only the pro-choice movement had focused on upholding "safe, legal and rare" instead of advocating for abortion on demand and "shout your abortion" there would have been enough mercy so that a 10 year old didn't have to carry a rapist's baby to term.
Forced pregnancy is a crime against humanity.

There is no legitimacy in the Court. It is and has always been a political institution. The sooner establishment Democrats stop fretting about the Court’s legitimacy, the sooner they can pack it with justices who will support good, popular policies that improve people’s lives.
What is the point of Supreme Court hearings if would-be justices just lie to us? And what legitimacy does this court have if it’s packed with liars?
“being forced by the state to carry an unplanned pregnancy to term” is *chef’s kiss* perfect framing

It’s precisely *because* they cannot legislate murder out of the human heart that civilized societies regulate the instruments of murder in human hands.

From “Masks have made my child antisocial at school” to “End congregate schooling so I can have an assault rifle” sure is a transition.
Tell me you’re a dog-whistling racist in the first 5 words of your tweet
Barack Obama is articulate but has never made a memorable speech. The reason is that his views are utterly conventional. He’s unable of saying anything outside of the elite consensus. He’s a walking, talking Atlantic magazine subscription.
What else dies in darkness? Weeds, which unless mulched over and denied the sunlight they need to grow, will eventually smother and starve the rest of the plants. Media, time to mulch your garden.
1924 Exclusive: We sat down with Hitler and he blames the Weimar government for what happened at the Beer Hall Putsch. Democracy dies in darkness.
“Let me promise you one thing, Pennsylvania. As your next U.S. Senator, no one will be less informed or prepared than I to make decisions affecting your lives. You get it, right?”

Many folks run around claiming to be “free-market” capitalists, but what they actually are is captured market capitalists, using subsidies + restrictive policy to hold us hostage to fossil fuels, for-profit healthcare/housing, etc that many wouldn’t choose if they had the choice

extremely“as per my earlier email” vibes
Americans are tired of changing their clocks twice a year. When winter comes, nobody wants to be sitting in the dark. Let’s make Daylight Savings Time permanent and free ourselves from this outdated ritual.
