What young people should know is that if they charm their way into a job and they do their job well, they can get away with breaking a lot of the dumb rules they don’t like as long as they continue to be good at their job. It’s what I’ve always done and it works perfectly for me.

I post this every year but my brothers name on Snapchat used to be United93 because he was born in 93 and supports man united
He of course was oblivious to it also being the name of one of the 9/11 flights and I of course thought it was very funny and never told him

Free idea for the Cannonballers out there: the new Dodge Charger being designed as an EV has a gigantic void ubderneath for where the battery goes. You could fill that entire area with a huge fuel cell.

Spent 3 weeks building a texting app slower than email. Messages fly at pigeon speed — LA to NYC takes 22 hrs. Sometimes the bird dies & the message isn’t delivered.

I am considering one of the most pressing questions of our era: in a Muppets Odyssey, who would Miss Piggy play? There's an argument for: the cyclops (appetite and mēnis), Circe (native empiggification), Calypso (won't let Kermie go), Penelope (loyal, vaguely spurned)

When Odysseus went into Agamemnon’s office with Nestor, he said to the latter wringing his hands: “I have blood on my hands”.
Agamemnon later said to Nestor: “Never bring that cretin in here again, he didn’t sack Troy, I did. That kind of weepiness makes me sick”.

Well, in football, it does seem that cheats do indeed prosper.
Not in our national character.
Cheating didn’t help you in war though, did it, mis amigos?

Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe founded Toronto. He introduced trial by jury and civil government in Ontario, tried to outlaw slavery, and built up the province’s infrastructure along military lines.
He also established armouries in towns and cities across Ontario, ensuring that Loyalists could drill and defend themselves for the day the Americans came. And they did.
During the unprovoked American invasion of 1812, his colleague Major General Isaac Brock gave his life at Queenston Heights, dying on the battlefield close to Niagara, while leading the charge against Yankee invaders burning towns, villages, farms and livestock preaching “liberty” and “emancipation” that nobody had asked for.
Just as in Mel Gibson’s The Patriot, British soldiers, Canadians, and Loyalists are depicted as villainous psychopaths rather than as people defending their homes, laws, and nation.

A fun tidbit from Indiana Jones is that the hunt for the Ark of the Covenant is led by a Wehrmacht colonel, but the Holy Grail operation is under an SS Standartenführer. Implies that Berlin reassigned Archeology ops from the regular army after Indy defeated them in Egypt.

Seeing hate directed at CBC for the news today about hockey night, thats misdirected.
Your hate should ge directed at the NHL for selling Rogers exclusive broadcast rights. Also at Rogers for ending the deal with CBC for HNIC on Saturday nights instead of extending it. – at Mississauga, Ontario

Hockey’s trophy presentation is just better than most other pro leagues because the players who actually win get to hold it first instead of some old guy.

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
