A UN envoy says that poverty levels in the UK are in violation of international law. Meanwhile, Suella Braverman wants to ban homeless people from sleeping in tents. Poverty is not a lifestyle choice. It is a political choice taken by this cruel and callous government.

“Bitterness, hatred, utter dysfunction and a toxic culture in which women felt victims of misogyny. Whilst people were dying by the thousands.” The UKGovernment summarised; world beating dysfunction. Wales *needs* independence from this faded relic of Empire, let’s move on.
Amazing intro from Krishnan Guru-Murthy #CovidInquiry "The government during covid was a disgusting orgy or narcissism. And that was according to Boris Johnson himself as he struggled to deal with the pandemic and clashed with his advisers. Evidence from Dominic Cummings and Lee Cain today revealed the extent of government breakdown and incompetence during national crisis. And the extent to which the Prime Minister's closest aid held him in contempt, even while working for him. Text messages from the times showed bitterness, hatred, utter disfunction, and a toxic culture in which women felt victims of misogyny while people were dying by the thousands. Of course Cummings himself who took his famous eye test in Barnard castle, admitted doing no wrong, claiming he had broken no rules. Is the covid reckoning beginning at last?"

Tory Brexiteers promised an extra £350m a week for the NHS. Sunak is offering an extra £200m for the entire winter and thinks nobody will notice the discrepancy.

Starmer is a lawyer. He knows the majority who make crossings have valid claims to asylum. He knows it’s not illegal to arrive by small boats as per the UN refugee convention. He knows “securing borders” isn’t the answer to displacement. He’s as dangerous as he is disingenuous. – at Syracuse, Sicily
Labour will restore the security of Britain's borders. Good to be in The Hague to set out how.

Sunlit Uplands everyone. This is what happens when a bunch of corrupt, lying ideologues and spivs ‘take back control’ and con people into believing that a bag of sovereignty beans is worth more than prosperity, influence, sane governance and a functioning democracy.
This parliamentary term is on track to be by far the worst for living standards since the 1950s. Typical working age household incomes are on course to be 4% lower in 2024-25 than they were in 2019-20. Never in living memory have families got so much poorer over a parliament.

Powell's 'rivers of blood speech', Thatcher's 'alien culture' interview, May's hostile environment. Johnson's 'letterboxes' article, Braverman's 'invasion' outburst, Anderson's 'f*ck off back to France'. Decade after decade of fanning the flames.

This week we had our largest ever extraction from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch: 11,353 kg of plastic out of the ocean for good. As we transition to System 03, we see that increasing system size leads to bigger catches.

Some of us were campaigning against this script a few years back. It's back with a vengeance. Please call it out: - work is not a therapy or cure - bad work makes mental health worse -many will never work - structure can be great so re-open day centres - DWP pressure is deadly

Norway has a £1 trillion + wealth fund for ordinary people, built over many years by taxing fossil fuel giants at 78%. Last year alone Norway collected $89bn in tax from fossil fuel giants. They then used that fund to pay people’s energy bills. There is another way.

It's just gone up, mate. Add Brexit on top of this clearly out-of-control inflation and you've got a potent cocktail that is damaging our economy. When will you, and your cronies, accept that only by being closer to the EU, will we begin to repair our economy?
I know a lot of people are worried about rising interest rates. But the alternative would make inflation far worse, so what you buy becomes more expensive & what you save, worth less. Take a moment to watch this video about why decisive action is needed to control inflation.
