Thanks to the amazing work by @KenneyNL on their platformer kit, @migueldeicaza efforts to bring Swift to Godot, and of course @godotengine themselves.
With it, the platformer kit has been rewritten in Swift as a jumping off point for other devs! #gamedev

If anyone wants a device with the same form factor as the @rabbit_hmi r1, which is also designed by teenage engineering, without AI, which is just about fun, and available for the same price, you should get the @playdate.

Godot could explode in abilities with a proper addon system
Because it's highly scriptable. Like no other engine
You can make anything. You can make your own UI. A pie-menu shortcut system. A better distraction-free mode. An interactive console. A built-in image editor or audio editor. Modeling tools for fast level design. An asset browser that can pull texture sets, models and skyboxes straight from polyhaven. Or transparently download fonts from google fonts. Cloud-synced editor settings. Collaboration tools that let multiple people work on the same project in real time. Script editor improvements. I can go on
Users could make it into an absolute beast of an engine. It could let people bring ideas to life in a fraction of time and with much less effort
But users need to be able to test and use project-independent tools comfortably without it being a burden to other people on their teams and without the hassle of gitignore
That's why global addons
