This is sensationalist. They have no coasters of the same make and model, it’s problematic, and fear mongering. I expect better from an NBC Affiliate.
People are grieving and this just exacerbates the situation.
Busch Gardens Tampa confirmed Tuesday that its roller coasters are operational after a man died at a Georgia amusement park, leading to the closure of several roller coasters across the country.

1. Majority of these are not from rides.
2. Majority from rides are rider or operator fault
3. Majority of KI/Great Adventure ones are freak tragedies unrelated to rides from the 1970/80’s that would never happen today.
Insanely irresponsible + fear baiting post.
Modern roller coasters are incredibly safe. Yesterday’s death is the first ever death on a B&M coaster in 37-38 years of their existence.
Approximately 101 deaths at parks that were or are managed by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (including former Cedar Fair parks after the 2024 merger), according to a detailed 2026 compilation by The Doan Law Firm.

The compilation by The Doan Law Firm includes all deaths at these parks over decades from any cause (e.g. shootings, drownings, heart attacks, parking lot incidents) plus some pre-ownership or merged Cedar Fair cases, not only ride fatalities.

JUST IN: A man was killed after falling out of a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, according to @11AliveNews.
Witnesses told the news station that the person fell out of the Goliath roller coaster and struck the ride multiple times. Six Flags Over Georgia released this statement to multiple outlets:
“We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are also providing support to the guests and team members affected. The park team and local authorities responded immediately, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities as they complete their investigation. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be sharing additional details at this time.”
Another train on the ride was stopped on the lift hill after the incident. News helicopters captured park staff evacuating riders from that train.
Goliath is a hyper coaster manufactured by B&M that opened in 2006. The ride is 200-feet tall with a top speed of 70mph.
