A foreign national has been arrested in Ballito with over a million rand in drugs.
The intelligence-driven operation was carried out by the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit yesterday.
Crystal meth, cocaine and other drugs were found, along with nine cellphones.
The 43-year-old is due in court today.

Yesterday, I came across these young South African men in Soweto Protea Glen, working for @Sixty60_Tweets, and it genuinely made me happy to see!
For far too long, we have been told that young South African men cannot ride bikes, and that this is why illegal immigrants are given these jobs. Encounters like this challenge that narrative. Our young people are capable, hardworking and ready to work. They deserve opportunities, not stereotypes and where ActionSA governs, Opportunities will be created!!

During our Door-to-Door campaign in Protea Glen, we came across a variety of local spaza shops and businesses owned by South Africans. One of them was Siyanda, a young entrepreneur who has been running his locksmith shop for approximately seven years and is still going strong!
Entrepreneurs like Siyanda demonstrate the hard work, resilience and determination that exist in our communities. ActionSA believes in putting South Africans first by supporting local businesses, empowering entrepreneurs and building an economy that creates opportunities for our people.
Upon my return as Executive Mayor, I will ensure that our laws are enforced so that businesses operate in compliance with the law. Our spaza shops must create opportunities for South Africans, and local entrepreneurs must receive the support they need to grow, create jobs and strengthen our local economy.

FREE STATE: COUNTERFEIT TEKKIES WORTH R431,800 SEIZED
Police seized 508 pairs of counterfeit branded takkies valued at approximately R431,800 during Operation Shanela II in Bloemfontein CBD on 16 October 2026.
The operation was conducted by the Free State Provincial Illicit Goods Task Team and other police units at a shoe and clothing store on St Georges Street.
An investigation has been opened at Parkweg under the Counterfeit Goods Act, with police and brand experts working together on the case.
