So many people have DM’d me about this trailer and I’ll be honest, watching it made me physically throw up.
I was COO from before FTX even had a name, it was my baby, and I was the last one out of the Bahamas after Sam got extradited. I lost everything I had on it and it took me a long time to get over, so I have zero interest in defending the people who caused this.
The media loves the story that FTX blew up because we were all partying in the Bahamas, but the place I worked looked nothing like that.
We had under 200 people in the core company at its peak, not counting subsidiaries, when other exchanges our size had thousands, so a lot of us were doing 16 to 18 hour days for over three years and barely had time to sleep, and whenever we walked in, day or night, Sam was at his desk.
I worked with Caroline and never once saw her get aggressive like she does in this trailer. She’s quiet and mild, and often lost in her own thoughts.
Most of us didn’t even know she and Sam were dating until we read about it after the bankruptcy, and I never saw him so much as put an arm around anyone.
FTX’s collapse ruined so many people’s lives, including ours, and Netflix decided to make it a love story.
Shame on you @netflix.

a cool $15bn loss is nothing to these guys. first down month in ten years and they still beat last year's record by august. idk if others know a lot about jane street but they are such a interesting company.
thing is they play different to the rest. their whole thing is believing the people they hire are smart enough to be left alone. they take the most cracked maths and physics grads on earth, the ones who'd normally disappear into google or a hedge fund, sit them next to elite engineers and let them build algos to arbitrage markets.
their entire trading stack is written in ocaml (wtf?). now they've got ai and tens of thousands of gpus to play with as well.
even the compute is a competition. they run an internal currency for gpu time and teams bid against each other for it. if you reckon your algo is worth the cycles, outbid the team next to you. most companies would rather nobody got the gpus than let two teams fight over them.
and they pay like they mean it. interns on a $300k a year rate. 3,500 staff, $9.4bn pay pool last year, about £2m a head lol
and it seems to work for them. $39.6bn of trading revenue in 2025, more than jp morgan's entire markets business. a record $16.1bn quarter this year. past $40bn for 2026 with the $15bn hole included. when you let people take real swings you're going to eat one now and then.
there's even a rumour they're the ones moving bitcoin's price. they make the market on the etfs and were sat on nearly $1bn of blackrock's bitcoin etf at the end of june. idk if i believe it. but a firm people think might be moving bitcoin from a room in new york is exactly the kind of crazy stuff i like.

the #1 wish of the $TIBBIR community right now is to make the token accessible on the Robinhood chain.

big green candles can be as scary as big red candles, especially after it has been so long
the first reaction for many is 'omg when should i sell'
and i understand this. seeing profit after so much pain is enchanting, and after such an aggressive move it is very likely to get liq's to the downside along the way
last cycle i fell for the same trick and had to buy/sell several times along the way. i did very well, but i added a lot more room for potential failure and had to deal with a lot of unnecessary stress monitoring charts as a result
i was also able to swallow my pride and buy back higher, but most are not able to do so. all prices above your sale price will feel expensive, prices below will fill you with greed, and it is not easy to pay a premium to enter back into the same position
my new thesis is very simple: if i do not believe the cycle high to be in, or close, then i have zero interest in selling
the unit values of the coins i hold (BTC, HYPE) are the most important thing to me and i will not melt my positions down by trying to over-optimise
the questions to ask yourself are, are you a proven profitable trader? do you believe the cycle high is in?
if the answer to these questions is no, then simply enjoy the ride, or you can always slightly reduce your position to feel more comfortable if overexposed. being too exposed can lead to bad decisions
when i exit i will make it known, but i intend on simply enjoying the ride for a long time to come
have a great weekend everyone 🩵

"Situational awareness" sounded a lot like "Effective altruism" and I proceed to discover Leopold was in FTXs fund early on lol
I still respect the young and smart g Leopold, but the rule is simple: every main character needs to be humbled by the market at some point

You can just do things
No one is better than you and you are not better than anyone
This world is a balance which always ends up rebalancing itself out, add some weight on the scale and observe
Observe what the universe has to say back
I need to be absolutely serious for once.
Never, EVER reply 'yes' or similar to tweets like this. In the UK you'll do 14 years in jail (not a joke). If you're abroad and visit, you'll be arrested at the airport.
Crazy that this tweet was made by a UK politician to trap people.
if you're not actively looking to add to spot positions then you're much better just logging off for the weekend
the minute chart should not change your yearly targets, the sun will shine again in the morning and better times await us
the future is brighter than the algorithm will let you believe
survive for the wonderful days ahead
Something that breaks my heart as a Millennial is how fucking optimistic and fun our teenage years and 20s were. Like we envisioned a TOTALLY different world from the one that we've got and insanely divorced from what Gen-Z are experiencing. Its hard to put in words how fantastic we thought life was gonna be and how it seemed like we were making tangible social progress. We've had all of that ripped away from us.

Will be interesting to see how western ships pay transit fees for Hormuz. For the first time in 500 years, a land power has fought the dominant maritime power and gained control of a global trade route.
I hope the war is over. U.S. never should have done this. We'll see if the U.S. can take the loss. A lot of lasting damage has been done. To a lot of things, not just Iran and global energy.

The Iran war is going so bad for Trump right now he might need to release The Epstein Files as a distraction.
I AM ABOUT TO WALK INTO THE MOST ABUNDANT BALANCED WEALTHY AND SUCCESSFUL PERIOD OF MY LIFE. I NATURALLY ATTRACT GOOD FORTUNE, AND I AM WEALTHY IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO PROSPER, AND I HAVE THE POWER TO BUILD THE LIFE THAT I DESIRE
If WW3 starts because Americans elected the most retarded president TWICE I'll be upset
I'd like the world to at least go out because there is a fundamental disagreement to how we should shape the future, not because a crusty old pedo needed a cover up for the Epstein files
