WHAT AN INFINITE STORY ASKS OF A COLLECTOR
My entry into LUCI was Mask #182. The longer I hold it, the less ownership feels like the end.
Collecting begins with possession. It becomes culture through responsibility.
A collector stands in the middle of a work’s passage.
One of the best parts of hosting gatherings is when we get to work with @GH0STPIPE. The Michelin star chef background and being the space's chief chocolatier/ chief mycology officer goes a long way but there really are just few things better than filling up our studio with a feast of his creations, love, and madness.
He designs each dish around Luci, its influences around the world, tailored to every person in attendance.
The day before he shows up with giant mystery boxes of whatever he has foraged in the woods: beds of moss, giant fungi and flora, bleached and beetled skulls and other odds and ends, along with many of the masks we've made together over the years from impregnated sawdust and mycelium - piece by piece he assembles the stage and centerpiece.
No matter how long I've lived in NYC and how many restaurants one tries in the process, there just is nothing like what he does. A different kind of breaking bread.

This is the 6th Mask I collected. A grail. The one that made the objective of a full spectrum possible.
It's a luminate, the rarest category. It's also a seer, and a finalist. It was never listed, I had reached out to many luminate holders to see whether they were ready to part with their masks. Some were considering, some gave me a blank no.
I had a great exchange with the owner, as it happens selling a mask can be a big thing for IRL activities but they didn't want to leave Sam's ecosystem so I added a Player in the balance to seal the deal. I understand that they were vouching for me to get the full spectrum and I will always be immensely grateful. You know who you are.
