We’ll be in London on Tuesday to hear the findings of Module 6 (care homes) of the @covidinquiryuk. Sadly, we already know that Wales hasn’t been scrutinised in any depth. Our expectations are small. We desperately need that statutory #WalesCovidInquiry. Care home residents were intentionally put at risk in Wales. Nothing has changed and nobody held accountable. Even worse, @MarkDrakeford et al lied in the @SeneddWales. @DafyddTrystan @mabonapgwynfor @RhunapIorwerth

Your income dictates what you are able to pay and not the value of your house. I don’t understand why we don’t have a local income tax instead of council tax.

Could’ve reduced the tax on fuel instead….
I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.   The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.   But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.   That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.   It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

Excellent thread ⬇️
People in Newport are (somewhat understandably), blowing a gasket about the suggestion that some M4 junctions *could* close. But junction closures are just a tiny bit of a pretty extraordinary Welsh Govt/Arup report, because the full picture is much, much bigger. 👇

I’ve been fighting for @CovidBereaved for almost 6 years! It’s our time. Trust me, feck all has changed in Wales. If we had a similar emergency tomorrow, we’d be fecked again🤦‍♀️

Closing 3 junctions around Newport will be a nightmare 🤦‍♀️ Most of us in Cwmbran use Henllys Lanes/J27 to avoid Malpas Road/J26. Now we’ll just be clogging up J28 or J26 🤷‍♀️ If it happens, it won’t last for long.

This was @RhunapIorwerth in March 2024 calling, again, for a #WalesCovidInquiry. We’re ready, are you? We won’t settle for reviews or committees! We’ve done that. We want what you promised - a statutory inquiry. @DafyddTrystan @mabonapgwynfor @Sioned_W @cefincampbell @NerysEvans @Heledd_Plaid @siangwenfelin @CarrieAHarper

101 people caught Covid on a Welsh hospital ward last week. Imagine if we took legal action on behalf of these 101 people. Would it make this less acceptable to Health Boards? Where are the unions? Your members are working in unhealthy environments?

Good luck to everyone involved in the Grooming Gang Inquiry. Sadly, from our experience, Wales will be a footnote. #WalesCovidInquiry

There should be both a triple lock on pensions ( we have some of the worst pensions in Europe for one of Europe's hardest working workforce) and social care spending. Maybe the PM can start looking at where the money has gone in the last 25 years, who it went to and what it was spent on, alongside the routine and corrupt current practice of denying people social care who are having to sell homes and everything they have despite qualification for said care. Bookmark this because it will be a bigger scandal than Post Office and PPE combined. We're a rich nation who's people ( out collective fault for voting for people and manifestos that change mid term, something that should be a legally binding document by the way) have worked hard for local and national services, care in old age, and a modest buffer to live on in retirement. This is neither woke, lefty, righty or middly. It's what people vote for only to be u-turned by all governments. Norway has 3 trillion in the bank, great pension provision, child care, public services and elderly care. They don't have a magic money tree nor have things like the City of London which should be generating huge revenue privately that also benefits us publicly. They simply hold politicians to account, make sound national decisions and aren't tempted by snake oil salesmen promising the earth but delivering zero to them but plenty to pals. We do the opposite.
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced a new publicly-owned "Great British Grid" It will "maximise and speed up the rollout of renewables across the UK"

Today 22 of our families shared their experiences in Cardiff. We are grateful to @DafyddTrystan for his time. The room was full of love, anger and tears but most of all, hope 🙏 Hope that our @Plaid_Cymru @WelshGovernment deliver what was promised - #WalesCovidInquiry @mabonapgwynfor @RhunapIorwerth @DarrenMillarMS @AndrewRTDavies @jason_oco @adavies4 @ShiptonMartin @WillHayCardiff

I never thought I’d be retweeting Jason but some things are beyond politics! . @WelshLabour covered up, @Plaid_Cymru promised to “right that wrong”. Well, we’re ready. #WalesCovidInquiry
These families deserve justice and the truth. We can’t call ourselves a modern country if we’re not willing to look within and face some uncomfortable truths about what went on and why. We can’t be prepared for the next event, if we don’t learn the lessons of the past. These families have our support, we will keep the government honest on this.

Just seen this on FB. It’s not even shocking anymore. We all deserve better in Wales. I’m so glad people like Rebekah expose it. I did the same in 2021, nothing has changed.

Next week over 20 families from every corner of Wales will be meeting @DafyddTrystan. We’ll be giving a voice to those who died and pleading for change. We have to have a statutory #WalesCovidInquiry now. @mabonapgwynfor @RhunapIorwerth @as_penarth @AndrewRTDavies @DarrenMillarMS @jason_oco @MatthewTorfaen
