Tomlin has a great salary, great job, and pretty solidified security at NBC now.
Not to mention his YouTube channel could be a career venture he could get more in to.
A lot less stressful jobs, requiring less hours, and he still getting paid millions.
If the Colts end up moving on from Shane Steichen, Mike Tomlin would be one of my first calls. The guy went 19 seasons in Pittsburgh without a losing record, won a Super Bowl, and managed to keep that team competitive even when the quarterback situation was a mess. He’s got his critics, especially with the lack of recent playoff success, but there’s no questioning his ability to lead a football team.
That said, I think the bigger priority is getting the GM hire right first. Let the new GM have a real say in who coaches this team and make sure they’re on the same page from day one. The Colts have spent too many years trying to make different pieces fit together instead of building something with a clear direction.
That’s part of what makes Tomlin interesting to me. He’s experienced, respected, and knows exactly what he wants in a football operation. Pair him with the right GM, give them a shared vision and let them build it together. I wouldn’t want Carlie hiring Tomlin just because he’s a big name, or forcing him on a GM who wants someone else. But if both sides want to work together, that’s a conversation I’d absolutely have.
Long overdue. Major credit to Carlie, she’s stood by her word, and moved quickly on her biggest decision she’s had to make as owner.
Now the Colts get a head start on everyone else to look for their new GM.
Why do these NFL playcallers go most of, if not entire games, not getting the ball to their best player(s)?
They all try to act so smart getting the ball to their WR4 or TE3 instead of their studs. So frustrating to see.
JJ McCarthy came in for the Giants in the middle of the game, threw 19 passes, and still threw for more yards than Daniel Jones.
Idk what you guys expect. Ballard made the wrong move overpaying a bad QB, an average WR, and trading a young WR too early. Thats why Daniel Jones needs “Keenan Allen” “Laquon Treadwell” and “Deion Burks” to get open.
So IU falls one spot after losing at home because a foot didn’t land three feet to the right, but Alabama stayed at six after losing as a home favorite two weeks ago?
