If you're in Miami, make sure to join us at the Effect meetup!
๐ Excited to welcome ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐ (@harrysolovay) to ๐๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ ๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ #๐ฏ!
I first discovered Harry through his incredible hardcore TypeScript tutorials on YouTube. His depth of knowledge, creativity, and ability to push the boundaries of the type system immediately stood out.

Harry is now building @crosshatchdev, an Effect-native toolkit for x402 payments, enabling applications and AI agents to seamlessly pay for and monetize APIs through programmable micropayments. Alongside projects like Liminal, his work continues to push the boundaries of whatโs possible with TypeScript and Effect.
Itโs a real privilege to have him share his ideas with the Miami developer community!

I'm excited to speak at Effect Miami alongside two truly extraordinary engineers: @jdegoes and @devinjameson
This'll be an incredibly fun event... if you're in Miami, come!
Also, a shoutout to @ariazou for organizing.

Before getting traits checked, Opus 5.5 built with native JS (.map, .filter().length, Math.max(...spread), .padEnd)
With Traits, it realized this is an Effect app and actually used Effect utilities. Still work to do, but the journey toward desloppification is underway ๐ค
Possibilities with decision models like Jev feel endless.
We're using it to build an open-source developer tool, Traits, that desloppifies AI codegen. Crazy future incoming traits.sh/?v=04
We had a security breach last night related to a large scale distillation attack that impacted 1.4% of OpenCode Console users
We have notified them all this morning via email. If you did not get an email you were not impacted, it was a subset of users who had external providers linked
The incident is ongoing so we cannot share more details at this point but we are working with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to remediate
Decision models change the game
Decision models could damage Anthropic's business.
You don't need Opus 5.5 when you can instantaneously run hundreds of natural language assertions on agent output...
... at a fraction of the cost.
This approach is being streamlined via Traits.

The post-slop era starts here.
Replying to @harrysolovay
... you can't teach every such lesson upfront.
You work with your agent. You correct it.
Traits saves the underlying lesson, applies it to future code, and sends violations back to the agent to fix.
Teach your agent to code the way you do.
