Bruno Isn’t the Agenda. Because I’ve been critical of Bruno for so long, some people seem to think I have a personal agenda against him. I don’t. I genuinely like Bruno, and honestly, I feel bad for him too. With the attacking numbers he’s produced, he should have had more trophies. I’m not trying to get Bruno out of the team. I want Manchester United to get the best out of Bruno without sacrificing the balance of the team. I’ve been saying: try Bruno as a false 9. Let him operate higher, with Mbeumo and Rashford/Cunha running beyond him, while keeping a proper midfield behind him. But if Carrick doesn’t want Bruno as a false 9, there’s another option: build the midfield around his risk taking. Bruno is an elite creator, but as a CM he constantly looks for the killer pass, plays forward early & aggressively leaves his position to press. When those passes are intercepted or his press is bypassed, United can suddenly have midfielders caught too high and huge spaces opening through the centre. Then the deeper midfielders are chasing transitions from behind, defending 2v1s and 3v2s instead of protecting the defence. Look at how Arsenal & City protect their creators. Their attacking midfielders operate within structures built around positional discipline, rest defence and immediate counter-pressing. If the killer pass isn’t on, they can recycle possession rather than constantly forcing the action. So if Bruno stays in midfield, give him a true No.6 who stays home, a disciplined 3-2 rest defence, and an immediate counter press when possession is lost. The answer isn’t asking Bruno to stop being Bruno. It’s putting Bruno in a structure that protects the team from the risks that come with his game. I don’t want Bruno to fail. I want Bruno to thrive & Manchester United to thrive with him.

Carrick, if you somehow survive this international break, DARE to try this against Spurs. Baleba fit? Play him. Not ready? Santos. Mount can rotate with Tielemans/Mainoo when needed. And if Bruno doesn’t work as a false 9, DON’T drop him back into midfield. Sub him for Sesko or even Rashford. Rashford/Dorgu can cover Cunha. Lacey can cover Mbeumo. We’re stacked. Stop forcing players into roles that hurt the balance. Put them where they’re best, build the team around that, and let them cook. 🔴🔥

Carrick, I’m begging you ... be fucking reckless for once and TRY THIS.😭 We struggle to score & keep clean sheets because our midfield isn’t compact enough ... it gets cut through way too easily, like butter. And the cohesion between midfield & the front line just isn’t good enough. It may be an unpopular opinion, but IDGAF: the problem is playing Bruno as one of the CMs. Play Bruno as a false 9. Cunha–Bruno–Mbeumo front three. A false 9 still has to be a striker. He drops deeper to disrupt the defence, create overloads and link play, ... but he also has to finish. Bruno can do ALL of that there better than he can playing CM for the team. Carrick, JUST DARE IT. 😤

I honestly can’t remember a referee/VAR call this universally accepted as WRONG. United fans, City fans, neutrals, pundits ... everyone agrees. At this point, the impressive part isn’t that they got the call wrong; it’s that two officials with multiple replays, slow motion & every possible angle still managed to reach the dumbest conclusion in the stadium. Everyone else saw it. They had every tool available & still somehow missed it. That’s not officiating; that’s incompetence with a replay button. 🤡

All the credit Carrick built last season is gone now. I defended this man against the Amorimists, rival fans & pundits, but this loss is 100% on Carrick. Hopefully he finally learns to be braver with his selections. Although, judging by how many opportunities he’s already had to learn & somehow keeps making the same mistakes, I’m not exactly holding my breath. I understand not starting Sesko. Fine. But once we got the red card & had a numerical advantage, there was ZERO excuse not to bring him on earlier. What was he waiting for!?😟 An offside goal?😠 An invitation from the referee?😠 And please, spare us the transfer window excuse. We had more than enough quality to beat Hull, Everton & 10 man Manchester City. This wasn’t a squad problem. This was a Carrick decision making problem. I’ve defended him plenty. Watched the full press conference, and I seriously like Michael Carrick. I still believe 💯 that he is the right man for Manchester United. Some people call him a “yes man”; others just say he’s calm. But he’s much more than that. Carrick has a way of making everything sound as boring and uneventful as possible, which means there’s barely anything for people to twist into narratives about players doing well or badly. The way he answers questions is almost exactly how he used to play: be in the right position, close down space, don’t lunge into unnecessary high risk tackles, read the opponent’s intentions, protect the back four behind you, stay press resistant😂, find deceptive passing angles, don’t do anything flashy, and simply get the ball to players in better positions. He never looked bothered as a player, and he doesn’t look bothered now.🙌 It’s a big call, especially at this point, I know. But I genuinely believe Carrick can be the first English manager to win the Premier League. The first one to win it as both a player & a manager. 💯

Honestly, some United fans need to step away from Football Manager for five minutes & look at the club we actually have.😂 The ridiculous part is seeing what City, Chelsea or Spurs are doing & asking why United can't simply do the same. Different finances, infrastructure, liabilities & regulatory headroom. INEOS inherited the consequences of years of terrible decisions: an enormous wage bill, huge outstanding transfer commitments, expensive contracts, massive amortisation costs, a squad with limited resale value & neglected infrastructure. At the end of 2025, debt & other liabilities were approaching £1.3bn. And look who INEOS brought in: Omar Berrada & Jason Wilcox, both from City. These aren't football amateurs. Wilcox has openly admitted he underestimated the scale of the job & that the rebuild would take time. And Berrada was shiked by the financial status of Manchester United & totally different than what he was briefed during hiring. Meanwhile, City have built a commercial monster alongside years of success. Spurs have a new stadium generating huge non football revenue. Chelsea have taken an extremely aggressive financial approach. So why should United just “spend like them”?... We've already tried throwing money at the problem. £1.9bn spent over several seasons produced an FA Cup, a League Cup & plenty of mediocrity. The answer isn't another panic spending cycle. It's fixing the machine. That's what INEOS are trying to do: cut the bloated cost base, reduce wages, restructure the organisation, improve recruitment, change contract practices & build a sustainable football operation. And the numbers are already moving: United went from a £3.9m operating loss to a £32.6m operating profit in the first six months of 2025/26, despite having no European football. Criticise INEOS when they deserve it. They absolutely have made mistakes. But stop blaming them for financial constraints created by years of decisions made before they arrived. They inherited the mess. They didn't create it. They walked into a financial crime scene & some fans are screaming b/c the people cleaning it up haven't bought us another Ferrari.😟 If your definition of a rebuild is simply “How many players did we buy this summer?”, you're not judging the rebuild. You're judging how much dopamine the transfer window gave you. Fix the foundations. Build properly. Then compete sustainably. Just Wake Up & Smell The Fvcken Coffee!☕

I watched the game again, and honestly, Luke Shaw’s performance was nowhere near as bad as some fans are making it out to be. Yes, he made that an uncharacteristic mistake allowing Abdul Fatawu to get past him before the ball eventually found Leif Davis, who finished from an unmarked position. But that was one duel lost all afternoon. Before that moment, and for much of the game afterwards, Shaw gave Fatawu absolutely nothing. And that first Ipswich goal? There’s far more to it than simply blaming Shaw. Mbeumo’s failure to track his man (Davis) played a major part, but somehow that part of the goal barely gets mentioned. Funny how certain details disappear when they don't fit the agenda.😏 The numbers tell a very different story. Shaw won 8/9 duels, completed 4/4 tackles, made 4 clearances, and, remarkably, recorded the highest top speed of anyone on the pitch at 34.4 km/h during his 73 minutes. Ain't that slow, eh!?🙂 And unlike Rashford, who was regularly doubled up on whenever he received the ball, Shaw often had little or no cover behind him if Fatawu beat him. You simply cannot expect a full back to win 100% of his individual duels for 90 minutes, especially when he’s frequently exposed one on one. Shaw made one costly mistake, which could've been avoided if Mbuemo tracked his man right, or Rashy helped Shaw in the defence. But even, that shouldn't suddenly turn an otherwise solid defensive performance into a disaster. These things happen in football.
