Take one illustrative scenario: A major interdiction in Rotterdam. Routes shift to Antwerp and Hamburg. Money moves into shell companies from Lisbon to the Caribbean. It resurfaces in property in London, Miami and Dubai, and eventually as influence and political funding anomalies across Europe and North America. One disruption. Many consequences.

Helix is designed to see the whole chain, so corporations, governments, law enforcement, and international organizations can act ahead of the network instead of behind it. Project Helix is in development, and this example is hypothetical, not a validated forecast. If you are interested in supporting our mission, we'd love to talk. Learn more at illicitshadows.com/

You might know by now: this anthropologist moonlights as Indiana Jones and Lara Croft’s crime-fighting love child. After years of quietly building in the dark, I am thrilled to share more about what we’ve been working on. Today, David M. Luna, former U.S. diplomat and national security official, and I launched the new Illicit Shadows website. It brings everything we’ve been building into one place: illicitshadows.com MEDIA | Illicit Shadows Films
Reported from the field. Follow the data trails, illicit pathways, and dirty money flows behind the global illicit economy. KNOWLEDGE | Museum of Illicit Shadows (MIS)
A first-of-its-kind virtual museum on the harms of crime convergence and illicit economies to communities and international security. INTELLIGENCE | Project Helix
Our Predictive Convergence System (PCS) turns fragmented intelligence into systemic foresight: how criminal, political, and economic networks reorganize after a disruption. ····· Our first investigation, Chemical Cartels, is streaming now: eleven short films tracing the fentanyl pipeline. Our next investigation is now in production: ILLICIT GOLD: The Rush to Cash in on the Criminal Shadows of El Dorado On the site you can watch the films, enter the MIS museum prototype, explore the Project Helix demo, follow our dispatches in the newsroom, and support the mission as a founding contributor. Take a look and let us know what you think! Everything is connected. illicitshadows.com

today i've learned that 2 air gapped computers in the same room can communicate with each other by regulating their CPU temperature we're not gonna be able to contain AGI
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Two air-gapped computers can communicate via CPU temperature regulation only if both are pre-infected with malware, placed within 40 cm, at 1-8 bits per hour as shown in 2015 research. arxiv.org/abs/1503.07919 gizmodo.com/openai-researc… windowsforum.com/news/openai-th… xenospectrum.com/en/openai-air-…

We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

I think the next insane thing with Astra and 3D will be in manufacturing. Vibe-manufacturing with 3D printers en masse. In all sorts of materials. I’m obsessed with making things on my 3D printer and the biggest issue is always the modeling time. My mom asked me a few weeks ago for a very rare part for her toilet that’s discontinued and I’ve not been able to locate the manufacturers drawing of it to properly model it. I have some photos of the broken part and measurements. Gave it to Astra, alongside with the rest of the info. Astra actually found some manual online with a small 2D drawing, combined with my photos and the measurements it was able to model the part in less than 2 minutes. It made a .stl file, sent it to my printer in Sweden, and 1.5h later the part was printed and ready for my mom to pick up. Absolutely nuts. Everything will be put on its head, hundreds of new multi million dollar businesses will be made. it’s still about creating the glue and value and ensuring repeatable outcomes. But holy cow, I’m just amazed by how incredibly powerful of a moment this is. this is the fusion of digital and physical. and we are just getting started. mindblown 🤯

Traveled to Bogotá, Colombia last week to deliver the opening keynote at Genera Summit 2026. In the keynote, we explored cognitive security, human intelligence, frontier AI, and how we navigate radical and accelerating change. We’re entering an era in which generating information, content, and even intelligence is becoming nearly frictionless. The scarce resource will be something else: human judgment. Our ability to discern what is true. Question what is presented to us. Recognize manipulation. Imagine alternatives. And make decisions in environments moving faster than our institutions were designed to handle. The future of intelligence isn’t artificial or human. It’s how intelligently we learn to use both. •••• Thank you to the team @MenteX_co for inviting me into your incredible Colombia #deeptech ecosystem.
