So grateful I get to train with these incredible women!
We celebrate our faculty and residents this #InternationalWomensDay! 63% of current residents are women, helping to #BreakTheBias for women in surgery. We are grateful for our faculty mentors who are #LeadingTheWay to a future of medical excellence and equality! @MedicalCollege

This moment brought to you by vaccines ☺️ A mini road trip through Texas to visit family and friends I hadn’t seen in 2+ years was just what I needed to fill my cup before residency starts Monday (!!)

I'm working on a top 10 list of things I wish I had known (or done) before I started my internship. What would you put on the list #medtwitter?

As we approach the new academic year, I have a small list of the best advice I’ve heard or cultivated in order to maximize your training experience. By no means comprehensive. Others have excellent lists.

1/ You: “Hello! Will this be your first dose today?” Me: “No. Second.” You nodded and then entered something into the tablet in your hands. Suddenly your head flung up as if you’d forgotten something. You: “I’m sorry. How y’all doing this evening?” I offered a thumbs up.

7 years ago I became an EMT and in a few weeks I’ll start my general surgery training. So surreal!

3 years ago, I was being put to sleep before surgery & while I knew everyone in the OR, I was frightened. I was fighting back tears on the table. Today, a patient gushed to my attending that a fellow held her hand before falling asleep A thread 🧵1/

Just submitted the capstone for my MEd degree! Feeling thankful that 3rd year me thought getting another degree during 4th year in what turned out to be a global pandemic would be a good idea. Excited for graduation in the next couple of weeks and to add MD, MEd to my name!

2 weeks ago I was in the OR for the last time as a student and today I walked out of med school for the last time. Feeling all the feels right now - so excited for a new adventure but sad to be leaving behind so many amazing people!

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.
