This study is from an excellent collaboration wh @Tushar_RCB lab. Grateful to @unescorcb for funding. The skeletal muscle loss in Parkinson's Disease results from elevated oxidative stress and cellular senescence causing reduced levels of the LaminA/C nuclear membrane protein.

The skeletal muscle slow myosin heavy chain regulates mammalian metabolic homeostasis through the NRF2 pathway
science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…
3. The NRF2 pathway is a crucial therapeutic target to control the type 2 diabetes, metabolic and muscle dysfunction associated with loss of myosin heavy chain-slow. Using a mouse model that we developed, we can rescue these defects by giving sulforaphane, which activates NRF2.
2. How myosin heavy chain-slow regulates fiber type, mitochondrial properties and metabolic function in the mammalian skeletal muscle is studied in this work. Grateful to @DBTIndia and @unescorcb for funding support 🙏
