With ⁦@Keir_Starmer⁩ pledging to unite Britain&build back a nation’s & trust in government brick by brick I hope ⁦@UKLabour⁩ show the nature leadership we so badly need starting with the easiest act: mandating swift bricks. In Labour’s hands is swifts’ existence.

Whoever is elected will have the power to destroy nature or recover it. They will have the existence of many species including swifts in their hands. And we will give them that power.

Approaching this week with the supreme confidence of a gull riding a swan.
A gull standing confidently, feet apart, on the back of a mute swan who seems placidly accepting of the situation. They are surrounded by other gulls, swans and ducks

Dear @BBCNews we would like to know why you didn’t cover a major news event in #London yesterday. Between 60-100 THOUSAND people marched at the #RestoreNatureNow. It looks like you are picking what you think is newsworthy. Isn’t that called bias? Regards, British wildlife.

Labour pledges to ban foie gras imports. FINALLY. How we can enjoy this knowing how it has been made is beyond me. ⁦@LibDems⁩ what is your decision on this? thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

Labour pledges to ban foie gras imports

The party plans to bar any products made by force-feeding ducks or geese from entering the UK, after a similar policy was dropped by the Tories last year

Happy Earth Day! Conservation is a huge part of Birda's mission and your birda sightings all go towards science. We have sent over 2 million bird sightings to the GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) to help nature. Thank you for helping nature! #earthday #nature

2 swifts spotted flying over Barnes yesterday. THEY ARE COMING HOME. Yet @michaelgove has yet to greenlight the simple swift brick measure to allow them to have a home in Britain. By 2025, the BTO estimates there will be fewer than 40,000 pairs remaining.

Lead is a highly toxic substance. ☠️ It kills wildlife 🌿 It pollutes habitats 🤮 It damages human health 🐶 It contaminates pet food But (amazingly!) it's still legal to use lead ammunition in many places. A short thread on a BIG issue for nature 🧵👇

We're in danger of losing one of our most iconic winter visitors. A warming climate means fewer Bewick's swans are completing their winter migration to the UK. Their arrival at @WWTSlimbridge this year was the latest since 1965.

This is a #swift brick, a proven conservation measure that could halt the rapid declines of #swifts +3 other redlisted birds if installed on a national scale. Email me the name of your MP + I’ll reply with a briefing note so you can ask them to support #TheFeatherSpeech debate.
