And that’s a wrap. Thank you to everyone who has engaged with me this year. It’s been a doozy, but you made every minute worthwhile. @AdamKassamMD is your newest, 140th OMA President. Excited to support him supporting you. @OntariosDoctors @drmsgandhi
When multiple past-presidents and board directors of the OMA take the time to put together a piece this heart-wrenchingly honest, one can only hope others listen. linkedin.com/posts/silvy-mat…

We have 2,000 trans and gender-diverse people on our clinic's wait list. If funding cuts shut us down, where will they go? torontolife.com/city/my-clin…

We can't make progress on bias when ppl are only prepared to acknowledge it as a general thing, but immediately generate excuses when it's brought up in individual cases/incidents.
Replying to @AjvictoryMD
And cue ppl pitching in w/ “Are you sure it was gender bias? MAYBE it was an innocent question.” & “This happened to me, it’s not always ab gender.” Acknowledging gender bias is the first step to creating a more inclusive culture in medicine and other fields.

💔 This is devastating to witness — if this family can’t establish a long-term relationship with another doc, this gentleman will fall through the cracks.
This goes beyond prescription renewals to the heart of caring for complex patients… which is the heart of family medicine.
This ad in Saturday’s @timescolonist newspaper is quite something. An urgent plea — for a doctor to renew prescriptions for her 82 year old husband. #bcpoli.

I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a "pro-life/anti-abortion" voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.

Immensely proud to witness @DGlaucomflecken deliver the commencement address at @YaleMed today. Knocked it out of the park with a message on humor, healing, and humanity in medicine. Who would’ve known where a silly med satire hobby and 3 life-and-death experiences would take us. – at New Haven, CT

KINDNESS ALERT:
This is Dr. David MacMillan. He won the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
How is he using his prize money?
By giving it to students who can't afford to go to university so they can get their degrees.
Well done, Professor. 👏🏼

Congratulations to Dr. Cook, whose passionate advocacy for critical-care patients has transformed how patients are treated around the world.

I love the Russian people. That is why I have to tell you the truth. Please watch and share.
Representation matters.
While we celebrate lets start the necessary conversation. Black physicians make up only2.3% of the physicians in Canada.Scarborough has one of the largest Black population at 10%.If SAMIH is to be truly embedded in the needs of the community Black representation will matter @UTSC

We found Omicron had a

The innocent victims of another senseless war. 😢
At Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, this 5 yr old boy is one of dozens of youngsters who can’t evacuate Kyiv- or this facility. His kidneys don’t function without 6 treatments a day… so he’ll remain in hospital despite nearby shelling and rocket attacks. @9NewsAUS
