Releasing my last fish of the season! I've just updated my blog: samedmondsfishing.blogspot.c…
I thought I'd have a couple of hours fishing before dark, although it was more like an endurance test!
Not the species Dad was expecting to be his first fish caught on a Zander Pro Shad, but this canal caught common put up a great fight!
I was wondering whether I'd made a good decision fishing on a river when it was so coloured, but I was pleased I gave it a try in the end!
Dad with an early Christmas present - an immaculate 4lb 1oz Perch! #spiderwire #abugarcia
A jerkbait caught Pike from a recent trip - I just wish I would have landed the fish that followed me in and took the lure an hour earlier!
Ten years ago today I landed my first ever 4lb+ Perch, weighing 4lb 3oz, on a Berkley Twintail - where has that time gone?!
An immaculate 3lb 11oz (46cm) stripey, which was the best of a brace of 3lb'ers caught jigging a creature bait on a short morning session.
This Pike was caught on a very memorable afternoon, which I've written about in my blog: samedmondsfishing.blogspot.c…
Although the Berkley Floating Mice Tail was designed for Trout, it's also a great soft bait for fishing on a drop-shot rig targeting Perch!
This Pike took the lure right at the boat, shook it's head and came off. Luckily on the next cast it took again, and thankfully I landed it!
I hadn't targeted Perch on rivers for a while - it was nice to catch this 3lb 5oz (43cm) yesterday afternoon within 15 minutes of starting!
I've just updated my blog about some of the Barbel and other species I've caught since the start of the season: samedmondsfishing.blogspot.c…
Dad's new P.B Pike, caught on one of his own flies, from Grafham, weighing 37lb 2oz. It measured 124cm and had a girth of 59cm!
For anyone who's interested in how Dad and I target Barbel with lures, I have a feature in this week's @angling_times on page 41.
After missing a bite on my first cast of the afternoon, on my second cast I hooked this Pike, which gave me one hell of a fight on my 9wt!
It's amazing what a bit of extra water and flow can do to liven up the fishing on a river! One of six Chub and two Barbel caught recently.
Jigged or drop-shotted, the 1.5" Power Nymph has caught me and my Dad some good fish over the past few seasons, especially Chub and Barbel!
