UK govt mooted new nuclear 20yrs ago- has splurged £bns of public ££s on it Yet to date ZERO electricity generated. Sizewell C has devastated vast areas of Suffolk countryside, much in the National Landscape- 1000s of trees felled, miles of hedging ripped up & wildlife eradicated

Nuclear's revolving doors exposed by @PrivateEyeNews "...Austin is now working for the company she was previously negotiating with as a civil servant. Those negotiations went rather well for Sizewell C's private shareholders...the taxpayer who will pick up the bill if costs grow"
📢 Farmers, Crop Consultants & Advisors! How was #CSFB damage this year? Was it easy to estimate damage for thresholds? Can you beat the accuracy of researchers? Please fill in this survey being done by our @Rothamsted @sheffielduni PhD student 🙏 link: shef.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/…
A great @IOBC_WPRS meeting on Integrated Control in Oilseed Crops at #SLU! #AlbinGunnarson #GCIRC demonstrated yellow water trapping for #CSFB & I presented our @Rothamsted work on #CoverCrops as trap crops for #CSFB @AHDB_Cereals @UnitedOilseeds #OSRReboot

...the licence to supply 219 million litres/yr & extend the expiry from 31/03/27 to 31/03/30, putting SSSI, SPA, SAC & Ramsar sites at risk! Where is the temporary desalination plant that was supposed to be supplying water for construction? Tell EA your concerns by 21/10/26. 2/2

E Anglia is still in drought- likely to continue into 2027. Despite this, Sizewell C plan a huge increase in extraction of groundwater from a borehole previously licenced to supply 49 million litres/yr for agricultural purposes. SZC want to increase...1/2

Great to be here at the #IOBC Integrated Control in Oilseeds meeting at #SLU 🇸🇪 👌 with the @Rothamsted contingent! I will be presenting work on #IPM of #CSFB in #OSR funded by @AHDB_Cereals @UnitedOilseeds 🌱 🌻
I hope this work buys some time for British #OSR growers to control #CSFB until more environmentally friendly options come to market! Great collaboration with @Rothamsted @Beetlepatry ApresLabs @RothamstedCRE
New research from Rothamsted and ApresLabs points to a breakthrough in oilseed rape management. A natural olive‑derived compound, SYN‑A, is showing remarkable power in restoring pyrethroid efficacy against cabbage stem flea beetle.

A woman called Michelle Farnham is now 17 days into a 3 week protest, living in a cage, at Trafalgar Square, to try and save a pig called Luna (who lives in an identical cage). She stays there day and night.
It has not had any big coverage, as far as I can see. I think it's a bit of a shame that violent and disruptive protest gets so much coverage, while quiet sort of self-sacrificing things like this, that do not harm anybody or any property, get less attention.
Whether you or I agree with her, or what she's trying to do, what an impressive commitment, eh?

Your trolley is helping fund an extinction crisis.
Palm oil is in countless everyday products, from Nutella and biscuits to chocolate, instant noodles, soap and cosmetics. Forests are cleared and deliberately burned to make way for plantations, destroying habitats and leaving wildlife with nowhere to go.
Orangutans • Sumatran elephants • Bornean pygmy elephants • Tigers • Sumatran rhinos • Sun bears • Gibbons • Proboscis monkeys • Pangolins • Hornbills • Clouded leopards • Malayan tapirs • Slow lorises • Leopard cats • Tarsiers • Flying squirrels • Civets • Frogs • Reptiles and insects to name but a few.
The IUCN says at least 193 threatened species are affected by palm oil production.
Every palm oil purchase has a body count. Read the ingredients. Stop the funding.
Sampling @Rothamsted for #CSFB R+ project started before drilling. Photo from 2 weeks ago. Crop now germinating well... So far few beetles caught & damage levels low... But no #parasitoids! Let's see how this season goes! @AHDB_Cereals @UnitedOilseeds @defra
