My first day of "unemployed" life.
Today's tasks:
- Pack the van for a weekend of climbing
- Organise some building work on the house
- Make LOT of quince jam
- Send my last full invoice to my client

But before I jump head first into long days of startup-life I'm taking 2 weeks to decompress.
That is if I don't get too excited and start early 😅

I've got a few ideas that I'm going to be testing and building over the next few months.
I'm excited to have the time and focus to try and make one of these idea into something great.
I'll be building all of these ideas in public so make sure to follow me to see the progress.
I've always been an entrepreneur.
I've built multiple SaaS products
Some got to $300 MRR.
But I never had the time or conviction to really grow them.
I didn't NEED them to succeed as I had my consulting income.
This was a hit to the ego too.
It's harder to feel worthy when you have no income.
Money is a simple way to measure your success
But here's the flip side...
This could be an awesome opportunity.
My main client is building for an industry that has had a massive downturn.
One of their clients goes bankrupt each week, the remaining ones are cutting costs.
Unfortunately for me that means my client also has to cut costs, ending our work together.
This is f**king scary.
I've been running my Serverless Consultancy for almost 4 years now.
Some of the things that I've helped companies build are awesome.
But this year I decided to reduce my workload and it hasn't gone to plan.
I just lost my main client.
By the end of today, I have no income.
So why am I so excited?

Big shoutout to @SamCompleteCode for his invaluable @awscloud tutorials on YouTube. They kick-started my journey into #AWS cloud engineering with @AWSAmplify, @typescript, @goserverless. We’ve supported each other’s content for years and we FINALLY got to meet at #reinvent 👨💻🙏
If you think that just getting AWS Certified is enough to get a job
You'll be very disappointed
In this video, I talk about why you need more than just a badge to get the job.

5. Error Handling:
This is important as it allows your app to recover or at least understand any errors.
There are multiple patterns for handling errors. Find the ones that work best for your main architecture patterns and you end up with a far better user experience.
4. Asynchronous Processing:
Asynchronous processing is a design pattern that allows for tasks to be processed asynchronously, which can improve scalability and reduce latency.
This is probably one of the most powerful patterns in the Serverless world
3. API Gateway Aggregation:
Aggregate multiple API calls into a single API call, which can reduce the number of API calls and improve performance.
This is also useful when you've got multiple microservices and you can have a customer-facing API that calls your microservices
2. Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS):
CQRS allows for improved scalability and the ability to separate commands from queries, which can create a better user experience and improved performance.
Step functions are often utilised in this pattern

1. Event-Driven Architecture:
Utilizing an event-driven architecture allows for the decoupling of different services, which can allow for faster scaling and enhanced flexibility.
