I remembered this post from almost a year ago: “Everyone uses a VPN now, not because people got smarter about privacy, but because VPNs got easier to use. Financial privacy will follow the same path. The question isn't IF, but how fast your network adapts.” It feels even more true today, with all the talk around shielded Bitcoin and the growing push for privacy across Ethereum. @naval and @mert helped me see where this was heading through their perspectives on privacy and the future of crypto. Looking at where the industry is today, that shift toward financial privacy seems obvious in hindsight. To me, zcash:native is still light-years ahead, and I struggle to see how anyone closes that gap anytime soon. Cryptography is extraordinarily complex. Building privacy people can trust with their money takes years of research, testing, scrutiny, and real-world validation. Preparing these systems for quantum threats adds another layer of difficulty. Zcash has years of development and production experience behind it, shaped by @zooko, founding scientists like @EliBenSasson, and cryptographers and developers like @ebfull and @feministPLT. You can't fast-track that accumulated expertise. The race for privacy only strengthens my conviction. I still see Zcash as the future of private digital money, with a huge amount of room to grow.
