Super Bowl Champion being coached. No head shake or why is he talking to me… Listens with his eyes
This is what “coachable” looks like ⬇️ Direct eye contact, acknowledging what is being said & listening.

I talked to a dad who raised 4 D1 or pro hitters. I asked him what he did differently. He didn't say one thing about mechanics, showcases, or travel teams. He asked his kids 2 questions after every game or practice. Positive always came first. -- 1. What did you do well today? Everyone wants to focus on the negative. Every other parent, every other coach. It drains the player. So start with what you did really well. Think about those, write it out, be proud of yourself. -- 2. What do I need to get better at, and what am I doing about it tomorrow? We're used to this one, but do it in a different way. "I chased the slider" ISN'T an answer. "Tomorrow I'm going to hit vs the slider machine. Set my approach, stick with it, win each pitch" is an answer. Write the work that's needed to be done. , not just the weakness. Two questions. After every game or practice. Your coach isn't going to do this for you. He's got 25 other hitters. The hitter who walks into the cage already knowing what he's working on gets better in the fall. Everybody else is guessing. Do it for a month and you'll feel a step ahead of everyone else.

Just now… Cleanup Big League hitter with the beautiful push bunt to tie the game!!! This is so awesome on so many levels!!! Just the fact that a cleanup hitter has this in his “toolbox” and can pull it out when he saw the opportunity is fantastic! Technique was Spot on!

Posture matters Hold your angles throughout the swing: ✅Butt behind your heels
✅Chest over the plate Get INTO good posture and STAY THERE as you rotate. Your posture helps determine how your barrel works. Stay in posture → barrel can stay through the hitting zone. Come out of posture → barrel comes out of the hitting zone. It isn't about rotating as fast as possible. It’s how fast can you rotate while maintaining great posture and staying over the plate. Turn fast. Hold your angles. Keep the barrel working through the zone.

My goal with 2 strikes is to increase the probability that the ball is put in play. A simple 2-strike approach that gives you a chance against multiple pitch speeds: Take the pitcher’s fastest pitch and think about hitting it deeper on a line to the opposite-field gap. You now have the ability to pull anything slower than the fastball. Fastball → deep, opposite-field gap. Off-speed → out front, pull it. One simple approach covers multiple pitch speeds With 2 strikes, the goal is simple: Give yourself the best chance to put the ball in play.

COACHES: In recent years, more and more MLB, MiLB and college hitters have asked me for this one specific thing to get them locked back in... Arm BP. Some organizations do so much machine work that hitters lose their timing and rhythm against a live arm. Sometimes, the answer isn’t more machine. It’s simply seeing the ball from a live arm again. A simple BP session has helped so many hitters get their timing back, regain their confidence and get locked back in. #GoodBatting
