Diplomacy 🇺🇬🇩🇿
As Youth MPs, our visit to the Algerian Embassy was a call for stronger Uganda–Algeria cooperation in education, student exchange programmes, and skills development. We must turn diplomatic ties into tangible opportunities for young people! #YouthLeadership

Engaging with the Algerian Ambassador alongside Regional Youth MPs to explore how best our young people can benefit from the mission. We learnt about the Algerian Government’s scholarship programme, established in 1982, which we hope to leverage to expand educational opportunities and support our youth.
Since 1987, the @AlgeriainUganda has supported Ugandan students through annual scholarship programmes.
We paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mourad Amokrane, Algeria’s Ambassador to Uganda, to explore possible opportunities in education and skills development for Uganda’s young people

Thank you hon min @MercyLakiskis for creating time to have this very much needed conversation as we forge our way forward on working together and creating lasting impact in our respective regions.
Yesterday, I engaged with my fellow Youth Members of Parliament to align our collective efforts in driving youth development across the country.🤝
From legislative synergies on the floor of Parliament to practical community outreach, we agreed on clear strategies to ensure young people are informed, empowered, and able to benefit directly from government initiatives.
Unified leadership and deliberate coordination are vital to ensuring no young person is left behind. Moving forward together!

Today in Tripoli, Libya, I had the honour of representing the Republic of Uganda at the 14th Ministerial Meeting of the African Union Committee of Ten (C-10) on the Reform of the United Nations Security Council.
In my statement, I reaffirmed Uganda’s steadfast commitment to the Common African position on Security Council reform, as enshrined in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration. I underscored the need for comprehensive reform that reflects contemporary geopolitical realities and advances a more inclusive, equitable, transparent, and representative multilateral system.
Africa’s call for adequate representation in both the permanent and non-permanent categories is rooted in the principles of justice, equality, and the continent’s rightful place in global decision-making. Uganda therefore supports the Common African Position calling for at least two permanent seats with all the prerogatives and privileges of permanent membership, including the veto, alongside two additional non-permanent seats.
I also emphasised the importance of maintaining Africa’s unity and speaking with one voice throughout the ongoing intergovernmental negotiations, while translating our shared commitment into tangible progress. The continued exclusion and underrepresentation of Africa in the Security Council must be addressed through meaningful and timely reform.
Uganda remains committed to working with fellow African Union Member States and international partners to advance a reformed United Nations Security Council that better reflects the interests of Africa and the wider international community, and strengthens the foundations of international peace and security.
Africa’s voice must be heard, its interests represented, and its place in global governance secured.

This is leadership in its truest form.
In Kiriri - Gomba today, Hon. @HonWitonze proved once again what it means to be a leader of the people.
No airs, no distance, just pure humility, respect, and deep connection. By stopping to listen and share a smile, he bridges the gap and truly understands the struggles of his community.
A leader for the people, always.
