Matteo Dante Perruccio, Chief Strategy Officer at 3iQ, will speak at @SALTConference London on November 3 at 9:45 AM. He will join the panel "The Macro Case for Digital Assets" alongside Bob Diamond (Hyperliquid Strategies), Miller Whitehouse-Levine (Solana Policy Institute), and Geoff Kendrick (Standard Chartered). The U.S. Treasury's announced bond buyback program has renewed attention on the macro case for including digital assets in portfolios. As GENIUS Act implementation continues, stablecoin growth has also accelerated, with Wall Street banks forming new digital dollar consortiums. Blockchain infrastructure has continued to mature, with Hyperliquid leading the charge toward the U.S. launch of perpetual futures. In this session, panelists who traversed from senior traditional finance roles into leading voices in digital finance will weigh in on the macro case for including digital assets in institutional investor portfolios. The inflation print was ugly, rates are backing up, oil’s near $100, and the S&P still refuses to roll over, so Mike Novogratz (@novogratz) and I dig into whether this market is bulletproof or just one bad headline from its first real correction. We also get into the Fed’s next hike, what an AI catastrophe would do to the NASDAQ, where Bitcoin goes from here, and why Texas Republicans are calling the Talarico race existential. All this and more on this week's episode of All Things Markets (@AllThingsMkts) presented by @SALTConference Watch/Listen on X, YouTube, and Spotify. The debate over whether crypto and stablecoin companies should be allowed to offer interest or yield on customer balances without complying with traditional banking rules.... “If you are going to be holding balances and paying interest, that's a bank. You should be regulated by a bank. ... So we have been firm, one thing over here, yes, but if you want to be a bank, become a bank.” - Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan Chase CEO ft.com/content/8e82ae33-cc11…

Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) tells @Scaramucci that the idea that young people can’t focus past a soundbite is wrong, and the podcast numbers prove it. “The average listener is around 31, 32 and that is the audience that all television channels are chasing.” Those listeners will sit through 35, 40, 45 minute episodes. If it’s good enough, they’ll listen.

Kay Swinburne, Baroness Swinburne, says crypto’s biggest problem isn’t the technology, it’s the word. “If you say you’re a crypto firm, they’ll probably put you to the bottom of their list. If you say digital assets, everybody sits at the front of their seats.” Traditional finance is moving in, the false divide is disappearing, and tokenization of standardized assets is coming fast.

The Rest is History hosts @dcsandbrook and @holland_tom say the first writing wasn’t poetry, and the first name in history wasn’t a king. “It’s not poets who invent writing or storytellers. It begins with accountants.” The first person we can name is Kushim, a scribe’s receipt for barley in ancient Uruk, and he’s remembered because of financial innovation.

Bank of England Deputy Governor Sarah Breeden told @KattyKay_ that the Bank of England isn’t blocking stablecoins, it’s offering to back them. “We will be the banker to the stablecoin.” She says the Bank rewrote its 2023 proposals after the industry said they weren’t viable, because trust in money underpins everything and innovation has to be responsible.

Manchester United and Ireland legend Roy Keane says the wins fade fast, and the losses are what keep him going. “I very rarely remember the victories. To me, it’s the disappointments that would drive you on.” A title wasn’t even mentioned in pre-season. Success just makes you want more.
