- English below - We welcomed the head priest from our local shrine, Miwa Shrine (Miwa-jinja) in Miwa, Okabe, and held the “Jozo Hajime Matsuri,” a Shinto ceremony marking the start of brewing. Today, October 9, we performed “Koshiki-okoshi” (the first steaming of rice), and brewing for the 2026 brewing year has officially begun. We are able to begin brewing safely once again this year thanks to everyone who enjoys Hatsukame, and to our partners across Japan who spread its appeal as its “messengers.” We offer our deepest thanks once again. This year, too, with a heartfelt “thank you” and careful handcraft, we will brew fine sake full of the Shizuoka character that Hatsukame holds as its ideal. At the end of November, we plan to release “Tokubetsu Junmai Hatsushibori Nama,” the first bottle of this season. We hope you will look forward to it.
