Hey @DWP, this man (who probably registers under a female name) has been working as a “journalist” and recieving money from gofundme’s and Patreon subscribers for years while claiming an inability to work. They have been found out so they are trying to close down and have been deleting a lot of their older tweets promoting their Patreon.

After multiple attacks this year, from Lloyds debanking us to former employees spreading malicious lies on social media, the situation has become unsustainable, both financially and operationally.
After 11 years, we take this action with deep sadness and regret. The extent of the lies, defamation, and harassment by ex-staff - coupled with the constant attacks by the state and those who’d see us destroyed - has become too much.
However, it is not over. This week, we will publish what really happened at the Canary and push back against the vicious campaign against our team and us.
We may be down, but we’re not out yet.

Il manifeste contre le manque de professeurs de philosophie dans son établissement — sa matière de prédilection. L’an dernier, un remplaçant a dû condenser en un seul semestre, à marche forcée, l’ensemble du programme consacré à Hegel et à Kant.
François a été le seul de sa classe à tenir le rythme : il avait déjà lu La Phénoménologie de l’esprit. Ses camarades, eux, peinaient à suivre, découvrant à peine cette œuvre en parallèle de la Critique de la raison pure.
Il a bien tenté de les aider après les cours, mais ces séances empiétaient sur ses engagements bénévoles dans une maison de retraite et sur ses leçons de violoncelle.

In fact, @TheBookRest, I’ve been doing some reading. And in your local area (or at least your lovely book shop - and as an aside it honestly looks a lovely book shop!) the Muslim immigrant population is 0.1%
It does creep up to 0.2% when you get out to Crewkerne etc and even 0.3% in both Chard North and South.
For comparison, Barking and Dagenham’s Muslim population is 24.4% - a quarter of their population are immigrant Muslims.
Bradford is 30.5%
Tower Hamlets is 40%.
These are the figures from the 2021 census so I can only assume those numbers have climbed higher now.
So I can understand why, with your 0.1% you don’t think there’s much of a problem. But try and put yourself in someone else’s shoes for once in your life, despite how difficult that may be for you.
