I’m thinking about making one of the most important decisions in my artistic journey: changing my artist name I chose it in February 2022, more than four years ago, when I was just entering the world of nfts. But my journey as an artist began long before that. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, taking art classes, winning competitions, participating in group & solo exhibitions, selling my art at auctions, supporting charity through my work, and creating digital art long before I knew what an nft was At the time, I felt that adding “NFTart” to my name represented the part of me that was entering this new, unknown world of web3 But over time, I realized that there is no longer a part of me that exists irl and another part that exists here. My digital art, this community, everything I’ve experienced and built here, it’s all me, and I take it seriously Nfts have become a tool for me, a way to establish the provenance and ownership of my art on the blockchain. But they are not my identity. I’m an artist, and I don’t want my name to define me by the technology I use That’s why I want to remove “NFTart” from my artist name And it’s hard, you know. After four years, this name is everywhere. It’s on my social media, my website domain, exhibitions, billboards, and so many things connected to my work. Changing it now feels like a huge step But I also know that if I keep putting it off, it will only become harder I would really appreciate your support and a little encouragement, maybe your experience, advice, or kind words, idk, whatever ❤️
