Todays endangered species is the: European Wildcat These cool cats, nicknamed "the highland tiger", are native to Scotland's wild woodlands, where they hunt rabbits to survive. Unfortunately, they are one of the most threatened, Scotlands native species. Due to their similarity, house cats are known to breed with Wildcats, diluting the gene pool. There are only an estimated 35, true Scottish wildcats, in the wild. However, strong conservation efforts are trying to restore that number.
