We send our deepest sympathies to her children, Felix and Emily, and hold her family and friends in our thoughts during this difficult time.
Jilly will be fondly remembered for her kindness, humour, and the genuine care she showed for the work we do.
She will be greatly missed.
Over the years, Jilly took great joy in seeing the progress of the charity, and we have been immensely proud to have had such a kind, talented, and successful author as our patron — and as a friend.
Jilly has been a dedicated patron of Secret World since 2008, offering her warmth, generosity, & steadfast support to our charity.
She always remembered to thank our staff & volunteers at Christmas for their dedication & compassion, a gesture that meant so much to everyone here.
Remembering Our Patron, Dame Jilly Cooper
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our much-loved patron, Jilly Cooper, who recently passed away at the age of 88.

Two Little Owls rescued by staff at Secret World Wildlife Rescue near Highbridge have been paired together to help their recovery.
The charity says it will allow them to learn natural behaviours from each other so they can eventually be released together.

Owl chicks found under Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid stage bbc.in/3JIibqA
The Pyramid Stage frame is left in place all year. We think some owls decided it was a good place for a nest, and the parents abandoned it once festival prep began
Great show!
We're a wildlife charity close to Glastonbury, and helped rescue a couple of baby owls from under the stage during your performance. One of them is now called Axl!
If you have time we'd love to host you at our centre for a tour and show you how we're helping them
We would like to say a massive thank you to @purplespoonage -Catering & Events for providing the delicious vegetarian and vegan lunch spread for our 2-day conference.
And we're off- Day 2 of our 4th annual 'Caring for British Wildlife' Conference begins with Maggie Brown talking about bat rescue and rehab in the UK.
Today we're focusing on wildlife rehabilitation and release and discussing how we can improve it for the future...
