🚨 Big news from Twitter/X🚨 X now officially allows "consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior" on the platform. Here's the lowdown: 📜 Policy: As long as content is "properly labeled and not prominently displayed," users can share adult material, including AI-generated or animated content meant to cause sexual arousal. 🛡️ Protection: X's policy emphasizes the importance of consensually produced content, defending all legal speech and recognizing sexual expression as a legitimate form of artistic expression. 🔍 Transparency: X Support has launched Adult Content and Violent Content policies to clarify the rules and enforce them. However, monetizing such content remains prohibited 👎 and it's not allowed in live videos, profile pictures, headers, list banners, or community cover photos. 🚧 Roadblocks: Despite a planned feature for adult creators, X faces challenges in detecting CSAM and non-consensual nudity at scale. 🔞 Age Restrictions: Adult content must have warnings to prevent exposure to minors. Regular posters can label their entire account, while occasional posters can label individual posts. Users under 18 will be blocked from viewing such content. ⚠️ Consequences: Failure to label adult content can result in X changing your media settings. Sharing prohibited content can lead to suspension or read-only mode. 🔎 Moderation: X uses both user reporting and automated techniques to detect and label sensitive media, but moderation mistakes can happen. Users can appeal wrongful flags or suspensions. 🤖 Spam Bot Issues: X struggles with porn spam bots already, leading to jokes and memes about the sudden influx of explicit content-promising accounts. This may be linked to Elon Musk's content moderation team cuts. ❗ Reporting: Users can report unsolicited adult content, sexual comments, or any unwanted sexualization without consent. ❓How do you think X’s new policy will affect the adult creator community? Will it provide more opportunities or pose new challenges?
