It’s been a long summer for @markbaldwin1
It’s hard to play free when the bills keep piling up. The Arizona was make or break time.
Mark told me last week “I need some signs that I still can play”.
Well he got them. For the 3rd yr in a row he finishes runner up at the AZ Open.
And since amateur Cody Massa won he gets to split first-third place money with Jimmy Hard K and Trevor Lewis.
A very important $16,000 check on the way.
Super happy for a great friend. Awesome event as always run by the @SWSectionPGA
Congratulations to Cody Massa on winning the 83rd Arizona Open Championship presented by @PingTour at @PapagoGolf. He becomes the first amateur champion since Paul Nolan in 1984 & just the sixth amateur to win in the tournament's 83-year history. @PGA @acaseofthegolf1

Senator @TJShope said it best—golf drives tourism. Golf brings visitors from around the world to experience Arizona’s world-class fairways and sunshine.
Let's all continue celebrating the game of golf in Arizona together!

Full status didn't cut it for getting into the WM Phoenix Open this week and the reduced field size didn't help them finish the first round before play was suspended. #Fail So maybe just go back to 132 and have a Monday Q 🤔 story here:

“This week is special.”
In 2000 & 2002, Greg Avant, PGA, teed it up in the WM Phoenix Open. This week, his son & reigning Southwest PGA Section Champion, Tommi, will do the same.
We asked Greg to share some fatherly advice. 🥹
Our Tommi Avant joined @GolfChannel on Tuesday at the iconic 16th hole at @tpcscottsdale for a quick chat following Tommi’s practice round for the @WMPhoenixOpen. 🎥 @GolfChannel
