However the gov tries to portray it, next week's Lords vote isn't about technicalities & negotiating tactics.
It will send a signal to children living in the most horrendous conditions: that the UK knows they are waiting & wants to help; or that family reunion is not a priority.

80 yrs ago today a delegation of Jewish leaders met with Prime Minister Chamberlain a week after Kristallnacht. That meeting led to the rescue op which became the Kindertransport. It’s a real honour to host the commemoration of it today - in the company of so many who were saved
