Mr and Mrs Wales😍❤️
Today, October 20th marks a very special day for the couple, it is the day 16 years ago, where William proposed to Catherine at an isolated cabin on the lake rotunda in Kenya.
They first went fishing and when thhe returned the future King got on one knee and proposed to his forever one.
Of the special 24 hour night where she went from girlfirnd to fiance, on October 20th 2009, Catherine wrote thanking the staff that attended them and helped William arrange a romantic night for his proposal
"'thank you for such a wonderful 24 hours! Sadly no fish were found, but we had great fun. I love the warm fire and candle lights, so romantic! I hope to be back again soon!'Catherine Middleton"🥹
15 years of marriage later and these soulmates are still proving fate does not make a mistake❤️

Let's talk about Catherine, because the Arab world is and we might as well join them.
Morning. Pouring rain. Green coat for Oman's flag. Diana's diamond feathers on it, the brooch only the wife of the Prince of Wales may wear. Then the curtsy to the Sultan, all the way down, all the way up, smile intact, that has been doing the rounds from Muscat to Riyadh ever since.
Evening. St George's Hall. Butter yellow. A caped gown by Elie Saab, which is to say a Lebanese couturier, an Arab house chosen for an Arab guest, and nobody had to explain that to anybody at the table. The Lover's Knot on her head, Diana's again. The Royal Victorian Order across her. The King's Family Order at her shoulder. Half the internet said Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The other half just stopped scrolling.
Two years ago she was on a bench in a garden telling us she had cancer. Tonight she was the most looked-at woman in the Gulf, and she got there without a single word about herself all day. Curtsied in the wet, changed, walked into the hall on her husband's arm, sat with a Sultan, went home.
That's diplomacy you can't buy and can't teach. A green coat in the rain, a yellow gown at dinner, a Lebanese designer, Diana's jewels, and manners that read the same in every language. The future Queen, saying welcome twice in one day, perfectly, without raising her voice.
Just wow.

Butter yellow. Elie Saab, a Lebanese house for an Arab guest. A cape that moved like it was in on the secret. Diana’s Lover’s Knot, the Royal Victorian Order, the King’s Family Order. William beside her in Windsor uniform looking like a man who knows exactly how lucky he is. St George’s Hall has seen a lot. It hadn’t seen that.

Now we have some good news to keep us smiling! Catherine is wearing a dark green, but look at that brooch. It's from 1863 when Princess Alexandra of Denmark received this stunner as a wedding gift ahead of her marriage to King Edward VII (well, he would become king in good time).
I love seeing William and Catherine together!! They are so fun to watch.

Wow. That's the word for Windsor this morning and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
It was tipping down. Proper October rain. Nobody reached for an umbrella, not the King, not the Queen, not the Princess of Wales, because you don't greet a guest from under an umbrella and that's the end of it. The King took his top hat off to the Sultan of Oman and gave him the biggest smile I've seen on him all year. Seventy-seven, in treatment, in the wet, delighted. That's a host.
Camilla in red. Catherine in green. Oman's flag, worn by two women of the House of Windsor without a word of explanation, because the Sultan would know and that's who it was for. On Catherine's coat, Diana's feathers, the Prince of Wales brooch, diamonds and emeralds, 160 years old, the one piece only the wife of the heir may wear. Her mother-in-law's. Now hers. And then the curtsy. I fainted in dramatic awe. Deep, unhurried, perfect, in heels, on wet stone, with a smile at the bottom of it. There are finishing schools that couldn't get you there in a year.
William had already done his job by then. He'd gone to the Sultan's residence first thing and brought him to Windsor himself. The heir fetching the guest. Nobody filmed it properly. That's fine. It wasn't for filming.
Then the carriages through the town. The King and the Sultan in the Irish coach, the Queen behind with the Omani defence minister, William and Catherine in the Australian with two of the Sultan's household, horses in the rain, the King's Troop firing the salute from Home Park, two anthems in the quadrangle. Forty-four years since a Sultan of Oman last came, and the Queen who hosted that one is in St George's Chapel a few hundred yards away.
This is the thing nobody else on earth can do. A family that has known the guest's family for two centuries, turning out in the rain, in the right colours, with the right jewels, saying welcome in a language older than any treaty. Soft power isn't a phrase. It's a green coat and a curtsy in the wet.
Banquet tonight. If this was the morning, God help us all.

Finishing touches ahead of this evening’s State Banquet… ✨
Tonight, The King and Queen will host a State Banquet for the Sultan of Oman at Windsor Castle.
☕️ Inspired by the Omani ritual of Kahwa, a collection of special teas will be served.
While Kahwa is traditionally a spiced coffee, the concept has been adapted to draw on the long-standing British love of tea while preserving the aromatic spices and flavours that make Kahwa so distinctive: fragrant cardamom, delicate rose, sweet dates, and gentle warming spices.
Guests will be invited to choose from an Iced Earl Grey & Date, an Iced Mint & Rose, or a Warm Cardamom-Spiced Blend sweetened with Windsor Honey.
Together, they reflect the warmth and hospitality shared by both Omani and British traditions. 🇬🇧🇴🇲

FFS!! People magazine you are delusional! The Sleazy Sussexes mouthpiece, has just spun a doozy: Harry and Meghan "never agreed" to the late Queen's Sandringham terms.
NEVER AGREED?!?! The Palace statement of 18 January 2020, the one that opened with the couple saying they were grateful to Her Majesty, introduced those terms with two words. "As agreed."
Published for the whole world to read.
And where did People get its scoop? A nameless "friend". Talking to a British glossy. Recycled by an American celebrity rag and slapped into a headline as if it were gospel.
The friend says the arrangement was "foisted upon them". FOISTED! By the Palace's own published account they understood they were "required to step back from Royal duties", and they kept their private patronages "with The Queen's blessing". Then came a Netflix deal and a memoir. Now the settlement they signed up to is something done TO them.
Act two. Another friend tells a London paper the couple "hate" being called "working members of the royal family”.
Really? We must repeat it as often as possible.
Let me set the record straight.
In January 2020 Queen Elizabeth said she and her family "would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family". In February 2021 the Palace confirmed they would not return in that role, and Harry's honorary military appointments went back to her. The phrase they sneer at is the job description they QUIT.
With People, every whine, every grievance, every anonymous whisper from the Sussex camp gets a headline. The official record gets nothing.
Then People handed space to a source whining that the pair cannot be "private citizens" because "they are public figures". Fame is NOT a constitutional status. An audience hands out celebrity. Only the Monarchy confers a royal role. And in September, through the Lord Chamberlain, the King spelled it out: no longer working members, their charity work done "in their private capacity", their position "akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests".
PRIVATE CITIZENS. The King's words. In writing.
Read the statement. It is short. The Queen was succinct. The King has been clear. The only ones still confused are the Sussexes' friends, and the magazine that keeps taking their calls.
