my stream told me a trade failed. onchain it had gone through 40 seconds earlier I ran a trading bot on solana that trusted a realtime stream for confirmations. fast, clean, one source of truth. except the stream drops messages. sometimes it never tells u a tx failed, sometimes it just goes quiet so the bot sat there retrying something that was already done, or blind to a fail for almost a minute the fix wasnt a better stream. it was to stop treating it as truth. every 5s I check my own state against the chain itself. the chain doesnt lie, the stream just forgets a realtime feed is a hint, not a source of truth
