Sorry Keir, but as someone who has a #stammer, who therefore cannot speak fluently, but is rather thriving in life (if I may say so myself) I couldn’t disagree more. By all means, encourage children to express themselves, but do not use “fluency” as an aim.

Today marks 28 years since Dominic took his own life because of the turmoil that he was facing due to his debilating stammer. Never underestimated the impact of living with a complex speech impediment. His story shouldn't go unheard. 😔😔
