Gold isn’t just a hedge against the U.S. dollar. For governments and central banks, it can be a hedge against the broader risks that come with fiat currencies.
As government spending and debt remain high, concerns around inflation, currency volatility and debasement continue to shape how reserves are managed.
That’s part of the reason gold remains an important reserve asset — it provides diversification outside of traditional currencies.
Bitcoin has also entered that conversation for some investors, offering another way to gain exposure outside the traditional monetary system.
The bigger theme is **diversification**. When confidence in currencies is tested, alternatives like gold tend to get more attention. 🪙

Gold typically doesn’t love higher real yields. When bonds are paying more after inflation, there’s a real opportunity cost to holding an asset like gold that doesn’t pay interest.
But this cycle has been different.
Despite elevated real yields, gold has remained remarkably resilient — and the view here is that the long-term bull market is still intact.
The call? Gold could ultimately reach $6,000–$7,000 an ounce before this cycle is over.
Higher yields may create some bumps along the way, but they don’t necessarily change the bigger picture. 🪙

Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — a time to listen, learn and reflect.
STLLR Gold staff were encouraged to take time today to attend local events, learn the story of Phyllis Webstad and Orange Shirt Day, and reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Reconciliation requires ongoing learning, accountability and meaningful action — today and beyond.
Today, STLLR Gold’s VP of Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs attended the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s Building Together: Indigenous Partnership and Equity in Canada’s Major Projects.
The day brought together Indigenous, industry and government leaders to discuss how meaningful partnerships and Indigenous participation can create shared, long-term value. We were pleased to hear Wabun Tribal Council Executive Director Jason Batise share his perspective on the evolving role of Indigenous participation in major projects.
As we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation tomorrow, these conversations reinforce the importance of listening, learning and turning dialogue into action.

Why doesn't gold rust?
Unlike iron, gold is a noble metal, meaning it is highly resistant to chemical reactions with air and moisture. This exceptional stability is why gold has been treasured for coins, jewelry, and artifacts for thousands of years.
