Assume ACA 22 passes in November by a simple majority and Upland gets closed. What does this mean for the threshold needed to *lower* ULA in a future ballot initiative? Simply majority or super majority? Upland only deals with ballot initiatives that *raise* taxes right?
LA real estate colleagues — voting on the streetlight assessment ballot (due June 2)?
Pro: Fee frozen since 1996. Called 311 on broken lights — was told 6+ months, couldn't even count the tickets ahead of mine. I just want the streets lit.
Con: City disbanded LAPD's copper theft unit. Voted against making theft a felony. The ballot fixes the budget, not the problem. And, if you don't return your ballot? Defaults to YES. Classic LA!
This is huge. What you’re seeing here is a developer switch from building luxury units to affordable units because the developer thinks he/she can make more money that way.
