About STEMCafe 🧩 Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics - STEM! STEMCafe is a non-linear learning centre where kids and young adults explore the amazing world of STEM through play and fun, interactive activities.

Last month, we wrapped up the Summer Maker Club 2026 holiday programme with a Demo Day, where our makers showcased their capstone projects. Now, it's a new school year, and the STEM learning continues! Our weekend and afterschool programmes are in session every week.

Our maker created a parking gate controlled by a potentiometer. The idea was for all components to be connected to the potentiometer so that she could use it as the master control. So when she turns the potentiometer, both the LED and the servo motor respond. #handsonlearning

The LASRIC-funded SAIL STEM For Schools programme is still ongoing! The students are building their skills in Embedded Systems, and the excitement is showing. Each group will eventually create a project of their choice and we can't wait to see what they envision and engineer.

Here's how we spent our STEM Open Day at Lagos & Port Harcourt! On Saturday, our learners brought their creativity & enthusiasm as we explored the day's STEM activities. They asked questions, explored design & simulation, and approached everything with the right kind of energy!

At STEMCafe, there are no barriers to learning for any child who engages in our activities. Irrespective of gender, each maker is given the same opportunity to explore, learn and build. There is no reason for learning/opportunity to be disadvantageous to one group over another.

Meet our young creator, Choice, from the SLB Young Creators Programme! 🎉 She aspires to study Medicine and Surgery. While medicine may seem far from 3D modeling at first glance, both require the ability to think critically, visualise solutions, and understand how systems work.
