On the recommendation of @steven23gall I nipped into Betty's to purchase a Fat Rascal before we left York. It was delicious @RunComPod
Yorkshire Marathon done in 4:02:12, marathon PB by 6 mins 3 secs 馃毃 (previous PB set at Loch Ness Marathon in 2015!) and a course PB by 10 mins (previous one set last year). Lovely to see @steven23gall at the start & saw @DeeringRob & @Progradar on the out & backs. @RunComPod
Great to meet up with our @RunComPod friends to discuss tomorrow's Yorkshire Marathon and get some last minute words of wisdom from @DeeringRob and @PaulTonkinson. I have decided to accept I have done enough and tomorrow will be fine. (馃)
On our way to York, listening to the pre Yorkshire Marathon episode of @RunComPod Exciting times
Last run before Yorkshire Marathon. 4 x 8 mins with 30 secs rest. Now to let the anticipation/excitement/fear build. @RunComPod
It's a bit grim up north this morning. An easy paced 5k through the rain and gloom to keep my legs ticking over. @RunComPod
Meadowmill Parkrun this morning with Abbie & James. Only my 2nd time running this one but took 3 mins 40 secs of my previous time here. Mixture of grass, trail & tarmac in blustery conditions but it was a fun stretch of the legs ahead of the marathon next weekend. @RunComPod
The tapering continues with an interval session. 1 x 8 mins at easy pace, 5 x 4 mins plus 1 x 5 mins at marathon pace with 30 secs rest. 10掳C warmer than yesterday so the Buff was banished back to the drawer..for now. @RunComPod
With the moon & stars twinkling above & the frost sparking on the grass it would seem that the season of the Buff (and running gloves) is upon us. Ever Decreasing Loops for 40 mins to kick start my Thursday @RunComPod
An easy paced 5k this morning as it's time to taper. @RunComPod
Great Scottish Run Half marathon this morning. I treated it like a training run as only 2 weeks to the marathon. Aimed for 8 mins/mile for 1st 4 miles, 8:20 for next 5 miles, then 9 mins/mile for the last 4 miles. Also trying Salt Sticks for 1st time. Job done, 1:51:39 @RunComPod
Our Parkrun Tourism travels took us to Linwood (or "Linwood no more" as The Proclaimers sang). A lovely flat trail/path route around the moss and woodlands. It's what we do on a Saturday morning. @RunComPod
An interval session to kick off new @RunComPod epsiodes day (馃). 1 x 10 mins at easy pace, 5 x 4 mins at half marathon pace (30 secs rest) and 1 x 10 mins at marathon pace. What's that on the horizon? Is it the rising sun or the looming Yorkshire Marathon?
Ever Decreasing Loops for 4.5 miles at an easy pace. The dark mornings are here so the bright tops are essential bits of kit. @RunComPod
It wouldn't be Sunday without a race. Linlithgow 10K in the rain. Abbie's 47:12 was a course PB for her. I was happy with my 48:23 given my recent brush with the lurgy @RunComPod
It wouldn't be Saturday without a Parkrun. A trip to the delightful, undulating trail course that is Plean. Abbie & I took it easy as we have a 10K race tomorrow while Suzy volunteered as a Tail Walker. @RunComPod
An easy paced and undulating 10K this evening. Not what I had on the marathon plan but with this cold still hanging about probably the sensible option. @RunComPod
After 7 days of "aff it" due to heavy cold/lurgy I donned my running attire & ventured forth into the dawn's early light for a 40 mins interval session. 10 mins at marathon pace, 5 x 4 mins at half marathon pace with 30 secs rest, then 10 mins at marathon pace. @RunComPod
No running for me this weekend as struggling with a heavy cold, so I was a Funnel Manager at Edinburgh Parkrun while Suzy & Abbie ran. For the 3rd week in a row Suzy got a Parkrun PB, her 37:41 was 3 secs quicker than last week's PB馃毃 @RunComPod
