I can’t tell you how much this tweet from Mr poppycock irks me. Last night I watched an incredible football game. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Let me tell you some of the things I saw: - Sask O The Trevor Harris/ Marc Mueller combo was amazing. Trev goes for 386, 4TDs. The timing, the throws, the accuracy, it was a thing of art! True greatness! Some of the catches were phenomenal. The play calling was spot on, and aggressive. They caught a tough bounce on the OPI call, and miss a TD throw late. This should have had 40 against the best Defense in the league (thus far) it was an amazing watch. - EDM O What can I say. Cody went nuts, 510 yards are you kidding me?? The 3rd down conversion throw on the last drive 🤯. What a strike. Cody went toe to toe with Trevor Harris and won tonight. He immediately enters MOP chat. The Elks are on fire. They went into a tough road environment, against a physical team and exchanged haymakers. I also thought the play calling was unbelievable, Maksymic was on it ! The execution was outstanding. This game featured huge hits, tight coverage, incredible throws, incredible catches, 3rd down stops, 3rd down conversions, broken tackles, controversial calls, and brilliance from all 4 coordinators (at times). Every drive mattered. It felt like a West Final. Truly awesome. AND WHAT DOES MR POPPYCOCK DO? Mentions literally NOTHING about the players, or plays in the game. Just use’s his platform to rally his base of potatoes and take a swipe at the league and board of governors. The current changes have been a MASSIVE success this year, I expect the same as the future ones. A pass hit the upright in this game. It was by far the worst (and stupidest) moment in the game. The masses believe in the changes. Hence why 2 major media companies have plaid HUGE money for the rights and there is a ton of talk about expansion happening soon. This is a prime example of old school CFL media though. And it’s a major reason the league suffers from narrative issues. Bob doesn’t have the ability or knowledge to talk actual football and be honest about the game. So he does what he does best; sends out a lazy, performative, sensationalized take.
