This beautiful short film really captures the art of #traditional #boatbuilding. It is essential we pass on these skills to the next generation to ensure the survival of our much loved craft #ShipshapeNetwork #HubLauch #ShipshapeScotlandHub
@scotfishmuseum are passionate about keeping alive the #traditionalskills required to maintain & operate their #historicvessels. This short film looks at the #boatbuilding skills behind the collection. Enjoy! bit.ly/34Fzuny #ShipshapeNetwork #HubLaunch #skillstraining
Some sad news for us at SS Explorer today...

It’s our turn to be featured in the @LeithForEver 100 days strand. See what SS Explorer did back in the days when she was the FRS Explorer (Fisheries Research Ship) in this cine-film from the time.
On Day 78 we take a look at the research ship used to develop new and improved fishing methods and engineering machinery - now being turned into a floating museum to be docked in Leith.

Must be something in Scotlands' sea air!
Perhaps Maritime Executive @Mar_Ex and John Paul DeJoria @johnpauldejoria would be interested in helping SS Explorer @SS_Explorer, docked in Leith @forthports and registered @NatHistShips?

If you find our shops a bit short staffed this week, I’m sorry. We have a colleague benefit where you get an extra day off when your kids have their first day at school, so a number of colleagues are doing a very special job away from their shops!
Our friend @janbeebrown is performing Scuttlebutt Stories featuring @SS_Explorer amongst others... please consider supporting this project if you can.
