One of my favorite activities before the STAAR. And ERA primary source relay! Analyzing pictures and deciding what era it goes to. This gave amazing conversation on strategies to analyze pictures! @SSSuccess1 @HallsvilleJH

Today during our Grade 3-5 #Path2Inquiry Cohort we demonstrated how to use inquiry boxes to explore content and apply historical thinking skills. Using manipulatives to help support students content building is a great way to engage. Thanks @SSSuccess1 for the great idea.

Primary Source Practice socialstudiessuccess.com/202…
I am so excited about my newest resource! After analyzing data from STAAR release questions, I have developed graphic organizers to practice the skills required to analyze primary sources on the STAAR. Each of these graphic organizers is matched with primary source excerpts.
Summer PD includes engagement strategies, literacy strategies, and even a make-n-take. #teacher #sschat #ProfessionalDevelopment
Popsicle stick people are great for engagement! you can read from their point of view, create puppet shows, or use them to randomly call on students.
