"Scott Watters goes to me 'mate, I'm going to play you every single week no matter what, even if you're playing rubbish, I'll keep playing you week in week out.' I was like 'you beauty, sold me the farm. Done, sign me up.'
Anyway, I'm driving from Sydney to Melbourne, literally as I cross the border at Albury Wodonga I get a phone call from Bainesy (Ameet Bains, then COO at St Kilda). He goes 'I got news for you, we've just sacked Scott Watters mate'. I was like 'Oh my God, what have I done!'"
