Lord Uxbridge (hit by a cannon ball at the battle of Waterloo): By God, I've lost my leg.
Duke of Wellington: By God, Sir, so you have.
Surely the greatest exchange in British military history.

Our memorial stone to the wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill was dedicated #onthisday in 1965. The green marble stone, close to the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II on the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Churchill is also honoured with this statue just across from the Abbey in Parliament Square.

This is indeed the source of so many of our current pathologies
As usual, manias in the West come down to people who exist in a Christian culture but who are no longer Christian, instinctively seeking ways to express their Christianity.

ET seems like a nice guy, and I believe one day ET should be allowed to go home, but first he’s going to have to spend 3 years being interrogated at the bottom of the deepest mineshaft we have.

If you’re going to go with the line “Woke 1 was crazy,” I think we need a bit fuller of an account of why you and these other politicians became crazy and what you all learned about how not to do it again.

Outrageous photo of voluptuous trollop typifies US tabloid media "race to the bottom".
The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney

IT'S OV-AH! Viktor Orban and his Fidesz party will lose power in today's Hungarian election. The only question now is whether Peter Magyar's Tisza Party will get the 133 seats it needs to change the constitution. I'd bet it will, but it might be close.

I guess I'll have to blog about this tomorrow, but "LOL, Trump TACO'ed out" is decidedly not the right reaction as compared to "that kind of brinkmanship is really fucking dangerous".

Today’s 6-3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a Victory for the American People and a Win for the Separation of Powers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.
In Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump, our Supreme Court has reaffirmed that the Constitution grants Congress - not the President - the power to tax.
American families and American businesses pay American tariffs - not foreign countries. With this decision, American families and businesses can breathe a sigh of relief.
I’m proud of the work our organization @AmericanFreedom has done on this case through our robust amicus brief program to advance economic freedom and defend the Constitution.
With this historic decision, America can now return to the pursuit of Free Trade with Free Nations under the Constitution of the United States!🇺🇸

Small reminder: if you took conservative positions on the Constitution, the economy, foreign policy, or basic morality and then radically changed them solely because a Republican was elected president who changed the party’s positions, you were never really a conservative, you were just a Republican.

Congress does nothing to preserve American honor, and then when Trump (and other presidents to a lesser degree) debases it further they’re like “these are the times we live in.” Yes, because of you. History will have nothing but contempt for your cowardice, certainly as an institution but for many of you as individuals.
