Educators do not get paid on strike. They cannot use their PTO. They cannot use their sick days. It is not a vacation. It is a sacrifice. No one wants to strike. Settle the contract now. Call and email your superintendent and school board.

Major “pizza party” vibes here. This is a bunch of one-time promises that still don’t amount to much and kick the inflation can further down the line. Personally, I’m gonna hold the line for EAs. They deserve much more than nickels and dimes.

Oh and warning that if the strike goes more than 2 days then they’ll extend the school year. Remember when we struck 2 years ago (after we had used all our snow days) and the school board (who are the people who decide this) said we didn’t have to make those days up.
