I feel like the hype of smash games for me (a semi-casual spectator) is seeing creativity. When godlike players push their characters beyond the game's intended design, that's what makes it sick. Like the first people to use weak hits to extend combos, nair 1 but not nair 2 etc
(THANKS RANAI 😤). Each character has so much polish and [most] moves function as they should, which I think leads to more predictable-looking optimizations, and then the game just becomes less about the creativity and more about the neutral (which isn't bad imo, just different)
