He didn’t need to say anything at all.
It takes Sonic a second to run for his beanbag and drag it into Shadow’s room. Fluffing it up and climbing on top of it. He’s grown too big for it, with his legs spilling out the edges… but he could still fall asleep with it, no problem.
He doesn’t linger with the hug for too long, knowing Shadow doesn’t exactly enjoy it.
He pulls off and stands back up. “That’s—all I wanted to do! Sorry I… kinda interrupted your nap!”
He’s grown so used to Shadow’s presence that the thought of any reality where he —
